It seems like you are trying to justify the trade by listing all of the issues you are currently having with your 2011. However, to be honest those issues are very minor and basically maintenance items on a car with 48K miles.

If you get right to it, you want the newer car because it has lower miles, 11K miles vesus 48K with less road rash and perhaps, just perhaps, you like the styling update they did in '14-'15.

If you want to trade up...sell private party, that extra $4-$5k would be well worth the pain to do so, and then your additional out of pocket is half as much.

Take a look at autotrader and cars.com to see what a similar bumblebee has for asking prices. For example, KBB/edmunds retail private party on my car is $20-21k. It doesnt take into account the color desirability - If I look at the average asking price on synergy green SS within 500 miles of me, it is $26.5 - that is a lot of additional cash in your pocket.

Yeah, I could maybe get 19K out of it. I see the going prices around that, I'm just really not familiar with how to sell Private property so its a very new thing for me.

I'd keep it. 48k miles is nothin. It's paid off and all yours. If you want to trade up, buy outside of your area and sell yours locally. Here in SA I paid $23k for a 13 SS dusk edition with 25k miles and thought it was a great deal. I've seen better deals elsewhere.

Even if you get $19k, how quickly do you to save $3k in your day job, if you were to trade in and lose that $3k? Since you are debating on $11k, I am guesing that $3k is still pretty substantial to you. The patience would pay off, and is a relatively simple process since you have the car paid off/title in hand.

Will I be able to trade it in 2-3 years? What will the value you be?

I work from home, I drive for date nights/some trips and I put on an outstanding 10K miles per year. More than likely I will buy a bike or a junker to do errands so I dont make my camaro a daily driver again.

Just wanted to get your input
Something to keep in mind...the market for the 5th Gen Camaros is pretty damn good.

I can never remember a Camaro holding it's value like this on any of the previous generations (not including some crazy gen I/II prices). My 7/8 year old SS with over 60,000 miles was still holding strong at nearly $20,000 when I bought her. That is not bad at all, at least compared to other cars. I mean it's not Corvette like levels of value, but still impressive for a Camaro.

So if you keep your '11 in great shape and maintain it properly, it will hold value very well, assuming the used car market and economy doesn't tank.

That said, in the short term I would take a little of that cash and do some maintenance on your car. You will feel better and your car will love you for it!

I'm not sure if the actual 5th gen is holding well. I bought it at $27.5k (2015) and I can get $19K in private selling.
2 years = 8.5k depreciation (for me)

I appreciate all the feedback, im still on the fence, but it helps hearing what the better routes are.

Don't get mad but you overpaid by $2-3k. A lot of people did. I don't see your value falling much in the next year or 2. It's a bumblebee.

$26K @ 0% interest is exactly what I owe on my 15 SS.
I've got 8K miles on the car. I bought it new.

So the dealer isn't too far off on the price

I wouldn't trade in mine but that's because I like the retro muscle car front end on mine and the retro interior. I don't like the mylink neither

The 5th gens are holding value well a 2010 still go for 19 or 20k that's real good because the car cost like 32k 7 years ago

Maybe I need to just buy a junker car then, spend $2-3k something I can drive around on errands lol. Tired of putting a ton of miles on my baby :(
