No scoops that I know of are really compatible with the Z/28 CAI kit. Maybe one is and someone will chime in.

I don't know of one either buddy. This is my setup and it would be great to buy, but we might need to go custom route instead.

I have the Z28 CAI on mine, I removed the baffle/diverter in front of the radiator support. Not sure if it made a difference, but looking at it, it definitely gives it more of a direct path to the air filter. I don't drive it in the rain, so that could be a consideration if you do. I seen a post/thread of a guy who made his own using black corrugated drain tubing, looked kind of cool.

Another Z28 CAI and PTB here, couldn't be happier with them.
Truth be told though, CAI, Rotofab, Z28, are all good choices. There's a link to Ted Jannetty's testing of a bunch of different CAI's over in the V8 forum, if you dig around a bit. I've just linked directlky to the spreadsheet of the results. It's on google docs, and I've got it saved in my bookmarks from back when I was researching this. It's a bit dated, but my main take away from it is, the best engineered ones perform pretty similarly to one another. I just went with the Z28 because I'm trying to use OEM parts on this car wherever possible. Just the theme I've decided to go with. The aftermarket suppliers make some incredible parts too, and I've no aversion to them when GM hasn't given us a viable upgrade alternative for the part in question, solid sub-frame bushings as an example. |

Just finished my Z/28 CAI install. Only minor cosmetic change I made was I drilled a half moon in the front left side of the engine cover to route the hose underneath the cover.

Did everyone simply bolt on the CAI or was there a tune involved as well?

CAI by itself, no tune is needed.

Tuning after your cold air kit is installed would likely get you some power, improved drivability, and even MPG improvements. But, tuning can lead to voiding your powertrain warranty if your local dealership is not mod friendly.
