Sure, they're a fraction of the cost. Zorro mufflers doesn't have a manufacturing plant to support, nor do they have an R&D facility to pay for. Those Chinese mufflers are really inexpensive, too, when bought in bulk.

Okay, where do you even start? A "true X" resonator? What you mean is the perforated (or louvered) tubes inside this dual-in/out glasspack meet in the middle. What on earth, though, is a "special wobble" in the pipe? Is that like a Weeble, so it won't fall down? And they had to make it so the packing material won't "move around"? So far, this sounds like something that "ShamWOW" guy on TV would love. You know, YOURS NOW FOR THE LOW, LOW PRICE...! BUY TWO, FOR A BETTER DEAL!

As opposed to...? ...Because of the overhead costs of actually running a manufacturing company, advertising products nationwide, paying a workforce, etc.

hadn't you said in a different thread that you DON'T work for Solo?
Sorry to the OP, if he thought my post was off topic, I felt it was on the same subject or I would not have posted. I will state that I am an extremely satisfied SOLO customer, that happened to know them from the SKY/Solstice side, and allowed them to use my CAMARO for 3 days for R&D. I run a Large printing company in New York City and have been a car hobby and enthusiast for many years. I give SOLO props because THEY DESERVE IT and happen to be a good friend of STEVE (SOLO's Salesman) also from the SKY/SOLSTICE WORLD, he is a stand up honest person (which is rare in this world).

You accusations and BS are off base and childish. As far as your attack on this product, SOLO charges a fair price for a high quality HAND BUILT system, as opposed to the large factories pumping out less than perfect fitting product. I bought a Magnaflow for my SKY before SOLO developed their system and it sits on my car, with tips that are welded NOT STRAIGHT (but within "tolerance") and drones like a bitch on the highway, With all their "R&D and factory" BS.

Do not let the large companies fool you because they throw the car on a dyno. A wide open system from any company will pull the same number past the cats and that is a fact. Their is NO NEED to dyno ANY system after the cats PERIOD. It is all sales tactic and smoke and mirror's. Headers and high flow cats are a whole other ball game.

Anyway, the subject of this thread was about chambered mufflers, which it seems to me Solo does NOT use. It sounds like just another borla, corsa, etc. that uses mesh packing material instead of deflectors to alter the sound. If I decide I want that I will go with the borla hands down.

By the way: The term "Exotic musclecar" is a total oxymoron to me. Exotic brings to mind the europeans like Lambo, Ferrari, whatever. A musclecar is american.
I have no ownership in SOLO, although I wish I did. Go with Borla, your loss.

And if you read others feedback they confer. Solo's system sounds like a combo between a Ferrari and a muscle car. If you heard it you would understand.

I apologize to the OP for being off topic, and I welcome a mod to clean up his thread and remove all of my posts if they deem off topic as well as all the nasty off base comments and attacks on me and SOLO. I guess my intentions of making you aware of other products out there were a waste of my time, others that have purchased the SOLO system have appreciated my information and love their system, no complaints. Good luck with your choices.

It's all good everyone. No hard feelin's. I'm just lookin for a bit more of the "old school" sound, as someone else put it.

Edrock: You say that the super44's are the most agressive...do I understand this to mean the loudest? Because loud is what I want.

That is fine by me and we all have our opinion. I personally love that sound as well, that is why I am putting cut outs into the SOLO system, for when i want loud, then I close them and still have a very smooth, yet respectable sound! Between the $750 for the SOLO MAch X and the $600 for Cut outs yu are still cheaper than a BIG BRAND system and you get the best of both worlds.

Just my 2 cents. I get nothing from what ever you do outside of the satisfaction of helping a fellow Camaro member..............even though I get unnecessarily attacked by a newbie for it!

I have Solo Mach-X's on my LS3 and I love them! Best sounding cat-back I've heard! The "exotic" sound as stated earlier does not take away from the muscle sound but rather gives it a clean, high quality note! At WOT this system says musclecar to the max!

Yes, that is my understanding. Here is the link to their site that explains it in more detail. I found it interesting and informative. Hope it will help you with your decision making.

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/index.php?cat=1

You'll need to scroll down the list to find the Super 44s. There's a whole list of different types of mufflers to choose from though. If I'm not mistaken, the 40 series is what comes with the AMT catback system. Have fun.

EDIT:
I just found this in another thread. You must check this out. This video does not showcase the Super 44s but they are flowmaster mufflers. Wow! OMG, Is this loud enough for ya? Talk about ear candy...This is a video from the Camaro5 member DMax. Keep in mind that he had other exhaust work done as well like 3" catback and DT shorties installed too. You may want to PM him to get all the details. Enjoy!

I swear by this 100% stainless high quality system. It is a straight through system, with a TRUE X resonator and nice 4.5" Tips SOLD AT A FRACTION OF THE BORLA, MAGNAFLOW, etc. AND THEY ARE MANDREL BENT, AND HAND BUILT !! So the systems line up PERFECT through the rear Valance with little effort. Also, unlike the factory system, it is perfectly mirrored from side to side, for more even flow.

The difference in performance is amazing and the new sound is EXOTIC MUSCLE CAR. SOLO has a one of a kind resonator that is designed with a true X inside. The pipe has a special wobble to it, special louvers, a combo of stainless and ceramic mesh, the mesh is in 4 sections to prevent that packing from moving around and the sound changing over time!

Read all the positive feedback by doing a search for SOLO and you will see how happy others are with SOLO PERFORMANCE!

It is a unique sounding, great performing, hand built quality stainless system at a price that better known companies cannot touch.

The video does it no justice but here it is............TRUST SOLO for your Camaro Exhaust needs and you will not be sorry.........trust all the feedback and other members like me that are super happy with systems!!

+1!!!! I get so many compliments on my Mach-X. I love this system. No....I do not work for Solo Performance. Let me just say, Steve (GOINGSOLO2) is a stand-up guy. I even had a minor issue with my credit card. Let's just say he went over and beyond to make it right. PRODUCT, QUALITY AND SERVICE IS SECOND TO NONE!

Just got my camaro yesterday guys, and I have to say: DAMN the stock exhaust sounds better than I expected. Videos do not do it justice. I now realize that it probably doesn't matter which exhaust you buy, because it is going to sound awesome in person no matter what.

I also want to say that from the prices I have seen, the SOLO guys are VERY competitive. So thumbs up to them for that. Also, does solo need to update their website or am I overlooking something? Cant find any info related to camaro anything on there. Post a link if I am just missing it. All I have seen is the forum posts so far.

All in all, I am LOVING the car, and am really pleased with the stock system right now. I'm sure I will be looking at aftermarket again after winter passes, as I dont see that I will be driving the car for much longer before winter storage.

Their website should be updated in the near future. They are just finishing up development on the V6 and getting final pics and video's together to use on the site. But Call STEVE (GoingSolo2) and he will answer any questions and take orders as well.

As all others can attest, you will be very happy with this system, I cannot get enough of the sound of my Camaro and the much quicker throttle response.

We are in the process of updating our entire catalog. The Camaro and G8 kits are all very new, but they will be included in the updated catalog. All of the information here on the kits is what you would need, but yes we are updating the website catalog. We have been super busy working on the design of these kits, so we put the catalog on the back burner for a few weeks...but we are on it now.

If you are looking at the flowmaster the stainless is of less quality than the solo 409s verses 304s

Well, I installed the Mach XL on Wednesday at a local Midas muffler shop. I keep reading about the good quality and fit of this exhaust, but all I can say is WOW...!!! I'm really not trying to knock these guys, but for informational purposes. They were not the brightest bunch of guys and it still only took them about 50 minutes to install. I say that because I just glanced at the instructions before going there and I had to instruct them on what to do. They didn't want to cut the stock system by the mufflers, so that took awhile. They installed the Mack XL in about 20 mins. They just dropped the pipes right in and they needed no adjustments at all. The tips just fill the rear exists perfectly and aligned right away. They were really impressed with the system and keep calling over the other tech's to see it. Once installed I hit the remote start and it growled to life. At start up it sounded like the stock exhaust but once I hit the throttle, you knew there was nothing stock under there. It sounds awesome. I noticed that since install, the exhaust note seems to be getting deeper. When I drive down the streets & highway, I can't seem to stop wanting to "gun" it. I keep seeing people all look at me before I even pass them because they hear that deep note growling behind them. It isn't loud at all until you hit it. It is such a refined sound. The throttle seems a bit smoother also. I am 110% satisfied with this system. Thanks for building such an awesome exhaust and then providing it to us at such a low price. Plus the best part is it comes with a discount on top of an already good price. Anyone that let's this offer go by is just insane. You will regret it if you don't jump on this offer, it's ending on this Sunday 11/08. The install price at this shop was $100. Hope this helps a fellow Camaro5 member.
