Stupid Drivers who tailgate in the rain

Doesn't matter if cell phones are banned or not on the road. They have been banned for over a year in California and you still see people talking on them everywhere.

I think the lower the DEFCON number the more serious it is, so being at DEFCON 4 would be pretty tame.

Driving nowadays has taken on the effect of 'going to war', and please, people, do not in any way mis-interpret what I am trying to say...I am not in ANY WAY minimizing what our brave military personnel are experiencing fighting an 'actual war'...

What I mean is that what I have noticed when I have been driving the last few years is that people are getting ruder and ruder, there is no consideration for ANYONE else on the road, people will 'ride your bumper' practically into your trunk, people do not use turn signals, they do not make any semblance of trying to make a FULL stop at a stop sign, yellow lights mean 'go faster' to beat the red light, red lights mean the last 2 or 3 cars behind you can still 'make it through', people beep and curse you out for going 'ONLY' 20 miles or so over the speed limit, and that is only so you do not get rear-ended, even if you are trying to drive at a safe speed IN THE RIGHT LANE....

And, don't even get me started with people on their cell phones talking and/or texting while driving a 2 ton 'weapon', even though it is AGAINST THE LAW HERE IN NY where I live and drive...

Driving is a PRIVILEDGE, not a 'God-given right'...

I always leave a decent distance in front of me in case I have to stop suddenly, especially on residential streets, so I do not plow into the car in front of me...I also leave a safe distance in front of me at a traffic light, in case I get rear-ended, so I don't also hit the car/s in front of me...

There is no such thing as 'defensive driving' out there on the roads today...people are driving so aggressively that they never even remotely consider the possiblity that someone may have to 'brake suddenly', as a small child may run in front of your car or an animal, or another car cutting in front of you and you have to jam on your brakes, and hope that the 'tail-gater' behind you doesn't end up in your back seat...

I will just say this to all my Camaro forum buddies...Please be careful out there on the roads and may you all get back home safely at the end of every 'battle' that you go to when you get behind the wheel to drive every day...

There was one time I was in a Wal-Mart parking lot driving in between the rows of parking spaces like I was supposed to be. This dimwit is driving accross the parking lanes and bursts out in front of me, thankfully I was paying attention, and get my car stopped before I make her Jeep Commander a piece of scrap metal. SO I sit there, and we are both stopped looking at eachother, I do the hands up in the air thing, like WTF! She drives off cussing profanities at me as if I have done something wrong??!?!?.....WHAT!

So I brush that off my shoulders and park....I turn to my friend in the passenger seat, and just before I was about to say, " I F'n Hate Wal-mart" This chick comes back around the parking lot and stops by my car and rolls her window down.... I'm like, okay she is going to apologize....WRONG! She is chewing my a$$! I'm just sitting there in shock! I'm like, " WTF did I do?" My friend gets out of the car, and got a few choice words in before she was able to drive off in a fit of rage....


I got nothing for ya man. I've been there... Some people just can see that they are the freaking problem..

I got nothing for ya man. I've been there... Some people just can see that they are the freaking problem..

I guess really all you can do in that situation is be the cooler head and talk reasonably to the other person to get them to see they were the wrong... and if you can manage to that then kudos! But if you remained completely calm and talked politely, I have a feeling it would just piss the other person off even more.

I avoid going in traffic around the local university because there are plenty of drivers behind the wheel with their head up their ASS... Every month 1 or 2 pedestrians get hit and wind up in my ER, I wouldn't drive in the lot of the nearby Wal Mart unless I had an M1A1 abrahms tank especially on Friday nights!!!!

Thanks, it scared the crap out of me and that was the 1st brand new vehicle I had ever bought and was pretty fond of it. Makes you stop and think how easy things can go wrong. I'm definately a more defensive driver!

doesn't stop'em from doing it. It is illegal here in WA, and I see at least 4 or 5 people on the phone every day to and from work. I have even seen numerous cops on cell phones while driving....

Being from the north side of the Beltway these are the kind of a@@ drivers that cause an accident and then cause a 2 hour back up while the police, fire, ems take care of the scene. I just hate stupid drivers. I've seen drivers merge onto 95 and then immediately cut across 3 lanes of traffic just to get to the fast lane. Are M1 Abrams street legal???

You're a pretty calm person. The 4 or so times this has happened to me (and believe me I never leave enough room in front of me when theres bumper to bumper traffic), road rage takes me over and I wind up getting out of the car for a confrontation.

Actually I've lost count of the times I've almost been rear ended by cops staring at their computer screens. Usually tailgating. Either get another person in the car to operate the screen or dont freaking use it. Last thing I want is the fuzz up my back bumper because they would probabally have to arrest me for verbal assault.

I always just lay on the horn when someone on their cellphone is driving poorly.
