there are still a few things you could do before swapping in a new cam. i'd get an underdrive pulley before you swap cams since you might pick one up with the cam install. skinny fronts, lighter wheels for the rear will also help. get a rod-mod manifold too if you haven't yet

True...but...IMHO these are more fine tuning mods vs major gain type...had I gone gonzo on weight reduction, skinnys(already have the rear covered bro-see u on the 3rd if don't FREAKIN SNOW!!!!) etc I guarantee I would have been runnin 11's...no question. If you factor in all the (gains) from the above and subtract from 12.3....and plus I now came ride this b outta the hole like it needs to be...

so nothin is set in stone...I am havin a BLAST with this car as is....but....

oh yeah i'll see ya there if it doesnt snow lol but i do agree they are more 'fine-tuning' mods. they do all add up though so it's something to think about! rod-mod or a sheet metal intake will help when you start spinning the motor more
