That actually does look pretty nice, pnwdan. Looks like it seals on the underside of the hood like GM’s.

Post the code that you're getting. Why are we posting pics of V8 CAI when OP has a LS?

It is still tripping the sensor, any suggestions?
I would first put the original maf back in and try it. Make sure you clean with alcohol wipe (solved a problem with my wife's sonic when I put a cai in and accidentally touched sensor metal side with the hot wire), it removes any skin oil. Then do same to new one. Worth a try.

The most common problem over the years is the lack of a good seal around the MAF some take o rings to seal the MAF to the tube some take gaskets, I would check and if needed even silicone that seal as its as in other loose parts of the connection to the throttle body would be first and most likely causes IMO for a v-8, your in a v-6 but should have simple fix, and maybe its just throwing a code due to the airflow change for now ; not knowing the code...... it takes time to have the car remap the AFR table adjusting itself. But you may want to pull the battery cable to clear the code and see if hopefully it does not return....pull cable wait 30 seconds plug back in and see if it keeps making the code, check all connections, check hose to the tube being proper...... That's what I would do, good luck. If you have a catch can check its seals also.

Here are the two codes:

P2179 Fuel Trim System Lean at Cruise or Acceleration
P0101 MAF Sensor Signal Range/Performance

I unhooked the battery and let it set for a bit and then also let the car idle for a full 20 minutes. Rechecked all of the clamps etc. to make sure tight and on properly.

I also took MAF sensor and cleaned it off before putting it back on. As someone asked, the screws are offset so it can only go in one way.

So far, no codes.
