Actually, goto the DiabloSports forum. If you read there the Trinity and Predator are undetectable. The reason is because it does not reflash your ECM, it just changes the values of the stock program. Therefore it keeps the key counts, programming, and does not show that the ECM has been flashed. Reverting to the original tune just reverts the settings back to stock. You will also see that people on there have had warranty work with GM with zero problems. I have yet to find an entry in any place where someone has said there warranty was voided because they used a Predator or Trinity to tune. All people do is revert to the stock tune before going to the dealer.

Do the supercharger and or tune, and it's history!
So if I change the factory exhousts to new ones...example like MRT..WOULD IT VOID WARRANTY ??

Your warranty book has a pretty good explanation. And it's in writing, from GM, so that is really the best answer.

You warranty book has a section - What is not covered.

One of those items Not Covered is: .... damage caused by .... alterations.

So if you alter the exhaust, and that altered exhaust causes a problem (highly highly unlikely) , that damage would not be covered. I.E if an aftermarket exhaust part melts something because it is too close. That melted something would not be covered as a warranty repair.

When you get into stuff like tuning it becomes a gray area. Because some tuning causes no problems, only makes everything better, and if your on good terms with your service dept they are probably not going to make an issue out of it. But on the other hand, tuning done wrong can cause engine damage - such as if the timing is cranked up too advanced and the engine is detonating to the point of damaging pistons, probably going to get the engine warranty voided.

Best bet, is stay on good terms with your local service dept. Get to know the Service Writer and Service Manager. Ask them questions and run it past them what you would like to do. And if you stick with reputable products, I highly doubt you'll have a problem.

Of all the talk and hysteria of voided warranties. There sure isn't a rash of people on here that have actually had their warranties voided. I can't even remember seen one person. So don't sweat it too much. Enjoy your car, talk to your local Service Manager, and I'll bet it will be no biggie if you want to do some tinkering.

Headers are a pretty serious mod, since they affect the a/f ratio. Some dealers will void warranty for them (I know they aren't supposed to but the reality is that they do). If virtually any dealer detect a 'tune' then kiss the warranty goodbye. The PCM affects too much...

i work at a dealer and i can tell you GM is getting tight on all warranty work, what used to be ok, isnt anymore. a dealer may be fine with doing some warranty work for you, but you never know when gm will request the cvn # from your ecm if they run into any issues and need to call technical assistance, also the first thing they ask you is " has the car been modified in any way or any aftermarket parts installed",, and ther dealer really does not want to be caught lying to gm. they are even sending gm reps out for warranty work inspections, and big warranty jobs need a cost analysis done before parts can even be ordered, in the past if we had a bad engine or trans / diff we could just order a new one and worry about paperwork later,, not anymore

If you install them or someone other than a GM dealer installs them they may or may not be covered. if it is determined there was an improper installation you may still be responsible...
