Is my warranty totally/partially void?

Is my warranty totally/partially void? I am wondering if only part of my warranty is void, or if the whole darn thing is void. I installed a CAI, long tube headers installed, and its tuned with diablo trinity. Now its obvious to me that at least part of my warranty is void. But is there any part of my warranty that is still good? Like if something in the interior breaks, will they fix it? Or are they going to say the whole darn thing is void because I have headers and tune?

Anything that is not related to the drivetrain should still be covered.

I think it would depend on the dealership and their eveluation of the problem, if in their opinion they determined that your mods had nothing to do with the failure then it will probably be covered... but if they can determine in any way it could have created or made the problem worse, you will probably have to bite the bullet and pay for the repair yourself.
Anyway as Scott said anything not pertaining to the drivetrain should be still covered.

so based on that, Do dealerships 'tag' your car as void in warranty? For instance: if I go to 1 dealer, and they say they wont fix something because its void. Could I go to another dealer and possibly get a different opinion? Or do they have some kind of computer system and mark me as void, so when I go to the next dealer, they already can see that it was marked as void? I was aware this was going to be the case from the beginning. But I just want to get a better idea of what my options are

If the tune mod is reported back to GM , GM can make a note in the GMVIS as the powertrain warranty is voided. If that happens then yes ALL GM dealers will know.

So here is a secondary question. Are there certain degrees of "voided"? Example: If I only put headers on, will it be any less voided than installing headers, intake, catback, tune, supercharger?

Do ever thing here accept the tune and supercharger and should be fine
on your warranty....Moderator Tag done the same thing AFTER he checked
with GM and his dealer who both said the warranty will be fine (not voided)

Do the supercharger and or tune, and it's history!

There are probably a ton of threads here about it, but I will ask anyways. If I tune it with the diablo Trinity, and then revert the tune back to stock before I take it in to the dealer. Will they know that I tuned it?

What I've been told at our dealership is if you put a tune in a GM car and take it out before going in for anything that they would have to hook the scanner up to it it will still be able to be detected that you had it. And they say all GM vehicles. Right now I have a 2007 I5 Canyon I'm trading in and ordering a Camaro. They said even on it if it ever had a tune it will show. Now hopefully someone will chime in for you and tell you how to get around this. I'm sure someone has figured out by now how to fool them.

I have seen some people talking about buying a separate chip. Anyone know any more info about this? A link perhaps? I really don't want to have gm totally bail on me this early in the game.

This is risky. The documentation on the chip for the Camaro shows that it has the programming to keep track of miles, if it's been reprogrammed, and if it's been removed and put back in. The only question is if GM has turned these programs on. So you could do it but it's really a crap shot if it will be detected plus what will you do if it has to be taken in and you can't run home and replace the chip (which takes a fair amount of time).

Personally there are too many IF's imo which is why I'm waiting either until the warranty runs out or close to it.

The seperate chip does not replace anything, it actually plugs into the wiring harnass for the ECM and tweeks the existing programming. If it works the same way that some others I have seen work.. There are no plug in chips any more that can just be replaced...
