The way you did it the traction control was still engaged.. Try that and see.. Good luck, have fun !!
I think on newer models pushing the button twice turns everything off.

Like 1JEWLDSSRS said, you only disabled the stabilitrak. On 2010 cars there isn't a "competitive mode" like on later model years. With traction control on you'll still have the computer pulling power and slowing your car. Also, I've had better success with harder launches when I only turn traction control off than when I turn traction control and stabilitrak off. Just my $0.02.

There's "competitive mode" on the 2010, press once for T/C off, double tap for competitive mode with launch control with M6, press and hold for everything off.

I just did the quick and dirty video test with an iPhone stopwatch and sadly, the ol L99 is right in there at 5.xx depending on how quick me fingers on the watch are. So much for that ‘factory freak’ I always thought I had. Nothing $8-10K won’t fix!

When a car is rated for certain speeds, et's, etc it is under perfect conditions!

For the OP, he's in New Orleans; 84% humidity is high humidity. The will cut your performance. The other L99 guys will tell you your V8 has less performance than LS guys, it is what it is. While you're very close to sea level, your humidity it killing you. 84* isn't bad, but a 60* day would be better.

Now, do i know what i'm talking about? yes, I live in the desert! I've researched what I can do to build performance in my LFX V6 and I've found (on a corvette site) a page that will tell me how much horsepower I'm losing due to high heat as well as high elevation. Can't figure how much is lost due to humidity. I put it 60*, 80, 100 and 115. Those are the 4 seasons of the year here. I lose 10-12% of my horsepower for racing at 3000' and in high temps. GM says my car does 14.1 in 1/4 mile. Fastest I've had it is 14.96.

Unless you're in the California salt flats in January on a beautiful day, you'll probably never see perfect conditions. That being said, your car can make more power, you just need to get the right add-ons, tune, etc. But, get parts for what you want the car to do.

Just my 2 cents worth

If your going on Chevy or Motortrends Times your not doing yourself any favors. These cars are heavy and kinda slow. The L99 in stock trim and tune is a dog. Don’t get me wrong I love my 5th gen but I’m under no illusions on the straight line quickness.

Ok so when the weather gets a little better I will hold the traction control button until all the nannies are off and launch it a few times and record the runs. Really hoping I can get at least in the low 5s. Also I may invest in a CAI intake and long tube header in the near future. I'm a little skeptical do that though because I dont know a good trustworthy tuner in my area, and as I am an engineer for the Navy I tend to want to trust what the engineers did when they designed the car. Thanks for all the replies and advice.

It's the weather.

My car hates this weather, too, but wakes up big time in the winter.

Do your testing again after the first good cold front.
