Hahahaha. Funny you should say that, because it happened last Summer w/ a Dodge Charger SRT8 we had on our pre owned lot. The salesman was new, and didn't know that you are not to put anything but high test in the car. Well.... he put in ten bucks worth of 87 octane, and the car barely ran.

We had to pay replace the gas tank, and clear the injectors to make sure it wouldn't run wack after that.... Let's just say that Mr. Ourisman was not happy about needing to spend that kinda $.

The sales person was not disciplined, (he didn't know any better), but the manager who allowed that to happen is no longer w/ us.... Um, we didn't kill the guy, but yeah, he works somewhere else, where they don't care if you let your people run around unsurpervised. LOL

Now thats honesty, you must be a real good salesman!
Wow i never knew it can cause that much harm. I thought all you had to do was fill the tank twice with the recommended gas and it would be fine. If not, then to do the fuse pull, i didnt know that it could cause the need to get replacements

Temps were about the same so that should not have had anything to do with it. I just want to get the lower octane fuel out and put in what is recommended.
Im confused, did you put the 87 or did your dealer? You said that the first time it got up quick, but now it doesnt. If your dealer put in from the get go, then performance would have been degraded since the minute the fuel was in there Did you bring it back to the dealer and they put 87 back in it after a dealer service? Sorry im just trying to understand the situation

We could have done that, but that's kinda slimey. We sleep well at night becuase we aren't out fouling up fuel systems by mistake, and then makin it 100 times worse by trying to hide it afterward.... like I said though, the car barely ran, wouldn't go onver 10 MPH! So yeah, it needed a little help.

just drive it and refill with premium octane when close to empty. Then drive it some then do the fuse pull. No, your engine will not get damaged by this short term low octane run. Think of all the people who got 87 put in by their dealers at delivery. I am one of them and I didn't do a fuse pull until after 1 month, when I did, it made a difference.

If you've drove it around already and now at 1/4 tank, don't worry, just drive around some more and fill with premium, do the fuse pull, ready to rock.

I am not sure whether this has occurred to you or not but if you buy some octane booster and slosh the trunk (shake it back and forth) area and let it run a little this should fix your problem.

How do you know the dealer put in 87? If in fact they did, take it back to them and let them worry about it. Regardless, it's not going to hurt anything. You'll most likely cause more damage trying to remove it. I would probably top it off with 93 and run that tank out when you can. The next full 93 tank, do the fuse pull.

ah, just put a hose in it and start blowing or whatever you do to get the gas flowing.

The dealer put the 87 in. I called and asked and they told me the person that filled didn't know to put in the 93. The salesman didn't know that it took the higher octane. He drives a V6 Camaro.

And as odd as it seams, the power was there at first but I have noticed a decline.

More than you know! There are a lot of "corner cutters" out there....for those who were worried about us, I gladly furnished a gas station receipt showing the vehicle stock number and what was put in it - again, it goes back to buying from dealers YOU CAN TRUST to do it right!

Top it off with 93 octane, run it out, refill, and do the fuse pull to clear the computer - you'll be fine.

Go hammer it up and down the highway, you will have that 1/4 tank gone in no time.

I thought this was a trait for most Chargers?
