Syphoning gas from the SS?
I would like to syphon out the gas that the dealer put in my car. (They put in regular) Weather is not nice enough to drive it out and I still have over a quarter tank. Has anyone done this?

I really dont think that a quarter of a tank of gas will ruin the engine. but if you really need to you can go to the nearest auto parts store and buy a siphoning kit for like 20 bucks

Most GM cars do not let you get a siphon hose into the tank.

It's very difficult, if not impossible to siphon gas from any newer cars not just GM, but all manufacturers.

True but I have noticed a drop in power since first getting the car. I read through the fuse pull thread a while back and wondered if it really made that big a difference. Two days after getting the car I went to pass a vehicle, dropped it down to third and hit 100mph fairly quick. This past Sunday did the same thing and it was slower. Temps were about the same so that should not have had anything to do with it. I just want to get the lower octane fuel out and put in what is recommended.

No that wont work. You just have to drain it all out by either breaking in the car or letting it idle. You should be fine if you have a little 87 in there and you fill it up with 91 and do the fuse pull trick. I've heard that works.

My salesman told me when picking up the Camaro, they had issues where they had to remove the tanks on the vehicles to get the fuel out because people put E85 in them. |

Idle wont hurt. Wait till the distance to empty reads like 1 mile and dump 5gallons of supreme in there.
