Note: I received my 1LT/RS Camaro on 10th December 2009; shipment of late November 2009, so that's from the new production line.

It would be niCe to have the option to turn the foglamps on without them automotically being detected.
Funny you said that cause I have that option in my Krozzbow (Camaro) I heard many complaints about this even on the 2LTs. Was GM experimenting on these Camaros as they went along with the building process?

Production-line is where the car goes in a series of stages to build, starting from the Axles, Chassis, Body-shell all the way to the Engine, Transmission, Hood, Wheel installation etc; comes out the production line drivable.

The latest production-line included fixing the rear Camaro bumpers with Sensors.

Actually the dealer is right.. We ran into same problem when Pink Camaro had her accident.. The did make changes to the RS headlamps after a certain production date.

To OP give me your vin number and if you still have the production date, and let me look into it. The dealer had been telling Pink Camaro the same thing, then we were able to get the light easily. Also what light you need? The right is more expensive then the left.

How many million parts in a database ? Draging that part out of the system must be hard enough, putting the vin in there must eliminate millions of part from the computer"s search right off the bat, then when you ask for headlight assembly it can bring up what you are looking for.

Not exactly sure how GM's system works but I've done a little programming before and that scenario makes sence to me.

You got the high intensity HIDs... lol what a looser. Some dealers amaze me.
HIDs are High intensity discharge lamps. Sorry to hear about your accident with the deer, that wouldve made my heart stop. Hope you get your car fixed soon

Guys, if you read PinkCamaro's journal, you will find that in fact, there ARE 2 different versions of the RS headlight. They did some changes relatively early so if you have a 'lower' VIN, you might have one of the different "Old" headlights. I do beleive that only ONE headlight got changed though, for some reason and I think it was the Driver's side one.

So if you have the bad luck of having a low VIN, get in an accident and damage your driver's side, you might be in for a wait.

Sometimes your dealer IS an idiot, but you guys need look around a bit before you throw the punches, sometimes.

I can't say if the is true or not but if true why is this the first I have heard of it? It seams that everything about the Camaro is talked about on Camaro5, why not this. This could be very important info to the early RS owner.
No I have not seen Pinks journal but I be looking in to that.

I am a Dealer, I helped Pink Camaro in Getting her new Headlight, and yes there are 2 different RS headlights available depending on when it was produced. This was brought up on the forum when we were helping Pink get hers.

And just so you guys don't get surprised, the Right Headlamp assembly is about $30.00 more expensive than the left. Don't know why but it is.

You guys need to quit jumping on the bandwagon so fast, before knowing all the facts. Trust me most dealers would not purposely give wrong information to a customer, especially in the service department. Not saying all dealers are honest, we all know there are some bad ones out there.

So what vin is early and what vin is late? What is the differance?
I just read Pinks Journal and I did not say anything about there being 2 different headlights. It only said she was having a hard time finding one. I think we all know that getting parts for this car right now is hard is it is not hard to belive it could take three weeks to get a headlight.
I want to see the numbers. What vin gets what part number.

Sorry, been out for a while. Still waiting on that headlight!! Dealer says they have a 'swat' team on the issue and have called the factory and the supplier but still nothing. They are giving me a ship date of the 30th right now. I sure wish there was something I could do but guess I'm just stuck.

Last 8 of my vin are A9152396
