Manuals are faster because they have 30-40 more rwhp (at least on the v8's) from the extra 26 they get just from the engine and then the drivetrain loss in the auto's. If you get the auto up to the same rwhp as the manual, auto is faster.

Manual it Is!

Alright thanks for the input.

I'm definitely going with the manual, since everyone likes it and seems to have no problems with it... and I agree.. it feels like more of a sports car as a manual.

Now just some questions concerning the manual;

How do you shift for a fast start-up, my uncle might be building a nice long road(They live on a farm) so he said hes flattening it out and using it for his go carts and cars and stuff... to tune them just perfectly.
So I was wondering, while holding in the clutch in first gear, how do you get out, I've only done slow startups where you do a little gas and clutch at the same time... How do you smoke the tires or whatever (just getting it fast?). Do you get it to 2500 RPM then let go of the clutch?

Another question (sorry for all of them, can you tell I'm excited? haha)
When shifting from first to second, and when your high up in RPM's... do you let off the gas completely, then push in the clutch, then release the clutch, then floor the gas? Or is there a quicker way? Sorry the only vehicle that's manual that I've drove is my dads jeep, and that only had like 170HP, so I never gave her.

Thanks a lot guys...

Carter

POSI!

Let's not forget the M6 has the "SS" center section with "Posi"
That's why I am getting manual.

HDHOMER brought up the most important point. All V-8 Camaros get the positraction rear end, V-6 manual equipped cars also get positraction [standard], but V-6 automatics do NOT. Since you live in Alberta, and I live in Michigan, we both know the value of Positraction.
