The vibration is a troubling sign. I drove a full size GMC Jimmy with a 350cu V8 that developed a crack in the block. There were massive amounts of coolant going into the oil and the oil looked like a coffee milkshake. There was NO impact on performance. No shaking, no noise. I was cash poor at the time and drove the truck like that for maybe 50,000 miles, just adding coolant every week until I retired the old truck at about 325,000 miles. So with vibration, something might be broken. |

Had to did deep into the bowels of the 'ol roll-away box to retrieve my vintage 1980's Craftsman compression tester. On a moderately warm (not hot) engine remove all plugs, insert gauge in plug hole, disable fuel AND ignition, crank for a good 10-15 seconds. Repeat on 7 remaining cylinders. All #s should be within 5-10% of each other depending on vehicle mileage. My old school Oldsmobiles were always around 140-160 psi IF my memory serves me correctly (sometimes it doesn't!). I have yet to do this on an LS engine. Since it appears you haven't done this before grab a buddy who has. If none of your associates has ever accomplished this task then it is time to expand your friendship circle. Pizza and beer helps.
