First day I had My SS and was on my way to work when a Mustang and Toyota decided to pull on both sides of me on the expressway. Since I will not say we raced or even broke the speed limit, I will say that the mustang had a blown front left headlight as seen threw my rear view mirror.

I actually have not had anyone egg me on. I have been waiting for someone to try. If it ever happens and I feel froggy, I may tap the gas a little, but I try to be considerate to everyone on the road and do not want to be the one thay causes someone to lose their life.

Correct.

Street racing is not something we support. So please leave this thread focused on who's tried to race you and not how many times you accepted...

Duly noted, did not mean to promote street racing here just some talk among fellow car drivers about road experiences and thoughts.

Let's be honest here how many people on this thread hasn;t exceeded the speed limit with some other car beside, or behind you at some point.

But seriously if they kill this tread over this type of talk then they probably should kill all the threads refering to adding superchargers to daily drivers as this might promote everyone to drive too dangerously on the streets.

I did not mean to glorify or promote street racing but if you think all the owners on here adding all this power to their 2SS are only going to "use it on the track", than your fooling yourself.

I think you can see why a site as popular as ours would, in fact, support adding power to your car and driving it responsibly....

Kinda like alcohol. Drink it, have fun, but do it responsibly...

Only once did someone try to race me, and it was an audi S4 with a kid in it. Happened when I was on my way home from a friends house at about 2 or 3am, a week after i got the car. He would speed up then wait for me to catch up then speed up again. I just ignored and continued home that must have annoyed him lol!

I've got a great story to tell, but it may not go over so good with everybody...I'll keep it to myself.

I mean, let's be honest. I'm not nieve. People are trying to goad you into racing no matter what you drive and the difference is that this car doesn't have a whole lot of competition (SS's). Hell, it happens to me all the time and I'm not trying to be a hater. Don't get taken in. The best example I can think of to do was in this great example. All you need to know and do if somebody is tempting you to street race.

I don't have a clip of it, but there was a scene in Apollo 13 where Tom Hanks is driving his Corvette and stopped at a red light and some clowns pull up next to him, start laughing at him, revving their engines and then take off. Tom Hanks' 'Vette stalls as soon as the light turns green. I thought it was funny. That'll diffuse a street race in a hurry.

Yeah, there was a dude who posted awhile ago about trying to do a burnout next to a Mustang and the cars were really close to each other. He lost control of his Camaro, didn't suffer much damage, but the Mustang got wrecked. This was all done in public in an unsafe, uncontrolled environment and spectators could have been killed. Just as this was potentially dangerous, so is street racing. If you're gonna mod your Camaros to 1000HP and ridiculous torque, cool, but remember, there are places to do this stuff!

Had an Acura TSX type S race me from a light. Heard him chirp 2nd...

Only I wasn't going to bother. My Camaro is faster than any Acura. No need to prove it. LOL
