How often do people try and race you? Lets hear your stories

Just curious as to how often people try to race you? When I first got my Camaro in Sept it wasn't bad but the longer I have had it, it seems the more people per day try and race me. For example, now keep in mind what I'm about to tell you all happened within 1 hour total of driving time. My girlfriend and I were out to eat and on the way back home I was in the right lane going the speed limit and I look in my rear view and see a mustang that swings over in the left lane and pulls up next to me, he's with his girlfriend and keeps egging me on to race I just look at him an shake my head. Finally we get back to my house, hang out for a little bit and then I take my girlfriend back home. On the way home some VW sedan gets in the lane next to me and just rides right next to me for ten mins. Finally once I drop her off and I'm on my way back some kid in a mustang with some crappy bodykit was reeving his engine at a light and then kept shooting off and egging me on. Lastly I was almost home and a Honda Civic was at a light that I pulled up to. He had the typical fart can exhaust so the light turns green and he hears my exhaust and probably assumes that I will race, so he speeds up and I don't do anything, he lets me catch up and finally I was just sick of it, by this time in an hour of driving four cars tried to race.

Anyways what's everyone else's issues?

I wish

I'm dying for the day I get next to a mustang and he/she wants to go. I have beed trying to pick a fight with all types of mustangs since I have had this car and not one taker! I was shocked, not one GT would bite.

I did have a nice go at it with a MB 350 going down 95 one day on a road trip and I absolutely killed a G35 recently. Even tried to picka fight with a new vette the same day I crushed the MB but he didn't bite, good thing becasue he would have killed me but what the hell, I was in the mood and thats one of the main reasons I bought this care, so I can kick some ass on the road when I'm in the mood.

Not even kidding. I remember 2 jeeps who tried to egg me on. I didn't bite (didn't have a radar back then). I had a Mustang GT with an ugly fat lady pull up next to me and mouth POS CAR. Let's just say she ate rubber hard. I then had a F150 try to race me. Then a dodge ram. And then an Escalade with a frat boy in it.

Driving around in Norman I always get this guy in a white/blue GT500 rev his engine at me. Then a college kid in a black and red GT500 just stares at me as though he wants to kill me. A lot of little crappy honda civics, every single pre-2005 model Mustang, every 2005-2009 Mustang and just about every truck. The only people I have never seen try to bait me are the guys in the Challengers.
So givethe GT500 guys what they want. Stick your foot in it and kick their _____!!!!!

I was cruising to work one morning, just hanging in the center lane of the freeway. It was a ho-hum morning, taking my time and keeping myself to myself.

From nowhere a black mustang shoots up next to me, stops nose to nose, and paces me for a few seconds. I look over give him a nod and he takes off.

I consider the proposal for a short time, notice traffic is fairly heavy, and my exit is a mile up the road. I shrug it off, telling myself two things:

1. I'd win.
2. He's not worth it.

After pulling into my usual spot in the back corner of the lot, I grab my bag and walk towards the building. About half way through the parking lot I'm met with an overly excited co-worker who says

"why didn't you take him? I left the door open. You would have smoked him. HE CALLED YOU OUT and you let him go. What were you thinking?"

We were both laughing pretty good as we walked in that day.

It was the best race I never ran.

If you guys keep talking about street racing, this thread isn't going to have a very long shelf life. I suggest you keep it relating to track racing.

Camaro5 does not promote street racing. At least in my experience they don't.

I'm not talking about actually street racing. I'm just saying how often do you get people trying to egg you on and race them. I couldn't believe that in an hours worth of driving it was four different cars. Frankly I don't want to hear about people street racing I just want to hear about if others are getting egged on too

"Egging on" is allowing oneself to be instigated into a street race. I'd becareful if I were you. I'm not a Moderator but I'm pretty sure this is grey area content that might get axed if they see it.

I see where you're coming from. But in my mind street racing and someone trying to egg you on is completely different. If this thread gets locked, then so be it. Won't ruin my day

You do have a point. There is a fine line and more often than not it gets crossed.

Until then... Happy New Year to all the smart ppl who don't street race!

Had some idiot in a subaru WRX impreza try to race me a week ago, keep in mind it was about 15 degrees outside with tons of ice on the road. I was like are you kidding? No wonder the insurance is so high on that car, apparently a bunch of morons drive them.
