there are nothing but rumors of a s/c camaro right now. check the Z28 and Z28 engine threads. no hard info, just a bunch of people guessing

I've been hoping for a 45th anniversary edition... I'm not planning on buying till 2012 so that would be perfect. By then the Gen V engines should be ready too if they're still under full scale development.

I heard rumors that the preproduction headlights were production, that the Z28 will have the LS7 in 2010, and that the Camaro will transform into a robot complete with cannons. I didn't believe any of these rumors. Hopefully, someone proves me wrong on the third rumor.

You guys kill me with, z28 this and z28 that. The damd car is not even out yet and you are all jumping to the head of the line to get something that may never be available to buy. You never know, the SS might be just enough PWR for you if you can handle it, much less afford it. Just stop with the madness of staring up all these rumors about something you know nothing about. If GM decides to release a Z28 then they will. Every one was jumping all over any little tid-bit of information they could get on the concept Camaro, now the production Camaro. Now that to much info has been relesed to early every one is somewhat bored and you all want to jump to the next thing that may not even be more the hopes and dreams and hope don’t float.

First off - welcome to our community.

I will respectfully ask you to keep your replies within the context of the thread. If you have an opinion or idea, please feel free to post up.

In response to your post, where is the madness you speak of? Was there madness too when the Concept came out; look what happened? Our beloved Camaro is back in action. No one has started rumors in this thread. I'm not sure how new you are to the site (your post count and join date suggests brand new, however, many new members have lurked a while and joined knowing a lot of what's been here already) however no one has claimed to know anything regarding Z28 except for that it isn't dead. Supercharger, light weight, Gen. V engine and such are all speculation, but it is not dead.

Having said that, unless you have something to contribute in this thread, be it an agreement or disagreement, I'd ask you respect the poster and stay on topic, or at least close. The title wasn't, "How many people are mad in thinking there is a Z28? What do you think?" Please post if you have input, otherwise, please look at other threads.

Sincerely...

Not quite...the folks who want the Z28 can be safely split into two groups:

-Those who want the nameplate and legendary vehicle back,
-And those who want a factory supercharger.

To either group, the V6, and SS versions were just steps along the way...they weren't interested in purchasing them from the get-go. So it's certainly not boredom that's causing these threads/topics/thoughts...more like anxiety, frustration -- or more likely: Passion.

You don't seem to share that passion with them...so please don't put them down for it.

EDIT: Oh, and regarding two things in your post: the SS will be affordable (as in competitive with the Mustang), and the Z28 is not 'dead'.
