The guys that did my Dyno tune said new ls7 lifters were junk and they keep seeing failures on them, recommended Johnson lifters, I'm still long way from being brave enough to crack open the heads so can't confirm or deny anything.

Even back in the early 80s I went with Crane because some Comp cam cores were soft and lobes wore down.
Roll the dice if you like but can cost an entire engine.

Very good lifter explanation video:

Great video.

Something like this , I always go by the motto “buy nice or pay twice “ never been let down by Johnson’s lifters . Running the 2110’s in my truck for over 3yrs now - running the 2116lsr link bar in my zl1

I used a Comp cam in my build an it seems pretty solid so far but my are from Johnson a they were almost 600 bucks. I used a BTR shaft mount rocker system with TSP roller tip rockers an PAC springs also from Texas Speed an I road race the car an it lives in the 6-7k range with no issues. Now I went to LS Fest last year an was talking to a guy from Comp cams an told him about my build an how much I liked the power the cam produced an he said my build was done with WalMart quality parts so take that for what’s it worth. Won’t buy Comp Cams parts anymore.

That seems like quite a douchey thing to say to someone...guy had some balls huh? Funny enough, you don't hear much about TSP and BTR parts failing and QC issues. I can't say the same about Comp Cams products.
