Thanks for your input which is all valid. My reference to the FMIC was more in reference to the big air/air units on the centri set-ups that completely change the airflow and cooling dynamics of the system. I just spent a year optimizing a system on my Corvette and don't want to do it again.
And yes, the stock brakes blow. Looking at a Stoptech system after tax time. . Quote:

Are any of you that are considering a supercharger system that has been tested only by the folks marketing the blower, feel the least bit uncomfortable? I sure would. There are proven systems out there that have been tested repeatedly. Why on earth would anyone buy a system that is unproven? Only prototypes "tested" by the folks that manufacture the units. I've been trapped into believing what a manufacturer represented as fact. I had to involve attorneys to get my money back. The dispute was settled out of court and I got my money back + attorney fees. Big hassle. Never again.

Si, my request above is for substantive data. To me that implies the product performs as advertised or to a promised level or I get my $ back. I understand there are variables involved that are outside of the manufactures control, the typical caveat emptor, but who wants to spend $8k on a consumer good that doesn't meet expectations? Hence my questions, and what should we expect from each system.

I am missing the part I am going to interpret. I asked for substantive data, i.e. it can be subtantiated, supported with facts, etc. and then I will post that data and potentially make my decision based on it. I didn't say I was going to buy blower based on a vendor posting the highest numbers.
There is also a negotiation stage where a vendor selling a good can agree to expectations, such as their own claims. Seems logical to me, and it can all take place on a public forum as well as in writing. Quote:

i think all systems have been proven in other platforms so i believe each company knows what they are doing, all have been producing the claimed numbers. its just a matter of personal preference. |

I would suggest to anyone before making a purchase like this to research the company. Look them up on the Better business bureau. |

Mike@KB,
I am shopping for a SC kit. I want some kind of warranty that will supplant my 5/100 GM warranty that will be lost when a SC is installed. No one I have talked to on the phone (Magnuson & Edelbrock are the 2 I called recently) will warrant any powertrain failure, unless the car is 100% stock inc the tune (stock tune that comes with the SC). Are you any different? If so, what is your warranty? Does your kit work with any of the major CAI suppliers (C.A.I specifically for me)? Inquiring minds need to know...

When do you plan on publishing numbers? I would assume if you are in the process of pushing the car to the limit you have some idea of what a reasonable tune will yield, what sort of IATs you are seeing, etc?

I saw a KB equipped Camaro at Cars n Coffee this morning, apparently a guy with a shop here in SoCal who is doing the testing and will be the car used for certs? He said there are two KB Camaros out and about, when will we get some numbers and data? Oh ya, the blower pulley was huge, what is it running 6lbs of boost?
