Did you hit head on? Cause if that's the case you technically felt a 60mph accident if you were both going 30. That would explain all the damage.

The car is designed to crumple like that in a head on collision, assuming the outcome would be much worse if you were traveling 60mph isn't exactly an accurate assumption, the damage to the car would not scale proportionately with speed, at least in the way you're assuming it would.

Yeah it looks bad and like alot of damage but doesn't look like a total in my opinion...I'm not taking into consideration frame damage if any, that would change it probably. Just an opinion, good to hear your unhurt.

That's like hitting something standing still at 60 mph.....a pretty big accident...in a car like this I would say the damage is about right. Our Honda looked close to that (not quite as bad) when we were hit right after the super bowl (we were sitting still and the other driver was going around 45).

Oh, and I may have misunderstood....were both cars doing 30 or was one car standing still?

For this little, the car won't be totaled unless the turbo did damage to the engine and even then that's iffy. Check out some of the other "wrecked" threads, some members had upwards of $25k in damage and still didn't get totaled.

Is your insurance covering the cost of the turbo? This would be the first time I've heard of an insurance company covering the cost of aftermarket parts.

Yelp turbo and any parts on the car is covered. The parts are like personal property and are the responsibility of the party at fault too fix or replace in the state of ga.

Well..... I disagree. It looks like it did exactly what it was supposed to do, crumple and let you walk away from the accident. But we can debate that at another time in another thread. For now Im glad you walked away and had no serious injuries!

Always lawyer up when dealing with insurance claims, insurance adjusters get paid to screw you over, even your own ins company, its their job.

Get a lawyer yesterday, also cause bodily injuries can takes years to creep up.

2nd don't forget civil court for excess damages.
The 25k limit wont apply there.
And in civil court the person waving him on could be held liable too.

civil court is way loser then crminal.

think OJ

Also go after assets, not money if need be. Anyone can claim to have no money but cars, trucks, boats, tools, houses..... cannot be put in red on paper like money.

Lawdogg, That's a bummer! I was looking forward to some quality racing action with you at the C5Fest. (I know you were too..)

I know you must be at a low point.. just be thankful you were not seriously hurt. The Car can always be replaced...
