Wrecked '10 Camaro

Well bad news. The beast is dead. While returning to my office from lunch I was struck in the front end by a nissian truck with a careless driver. He was attempting to cross a main highway with someone waving him that it was clear. Well the roadway wasn't!!!! I was traveling about 30 mph and look at the damage. These cars are dangerous. I took a hard hit with all the airbags out. I am now in a fight with insurance company's he has the great min in GA $25,000 coverage. I on the other hand have a underinsured policy that is suppose to pickup the difference. Fine and dandy but we found damage to the aftermarket turbo and associated piping.

So now my company wants to back track. (progressive is walking a fine line on this one) First they totaled the car but was trying to assess a value. Now they have moved to having the body shop completely strip the front end of the car off and they will do a complete estimate of the repair. They also stated they are having the engine completely checked out by GM. (plastic pieces of the headlamp was sucked into the engine through the turbo) I have stated numerous times I do not want the car fixed but they are not listening to what I say.

Ouch. I felt ill looking at your pics.

At least you were ok. Looks like the car crumpled where it was supposed to - but that open turbo intake was in worst possible place

Yea mods can you help a little brother out and fix my pics. I tried everything to get them right side up. Turbo had a metal screen on it but was punched by the headlight assembly.

yikes that sucks! I hope everything goes well. Just try to tell yourself that if insurance forces you to repair the car, that you can always sell it. Yes you may lose some money, but as long as they pay to replace the turbo too, I can't think that you'd lose too much if you take out the turbo and put it in your replacement But who knows...

Thanks for fixing the photos. I figure with GA's deminished value law, the $15,000 body work, and the turbo and piping damage this car should be scrapped.

30 mph impact and so much damage. If i were going say 60 mph I would be very hurt. Both my car and PlanetLSX's car were traveling around 30 mph.

Hey you know what, be thankful your ok. The Camaro did what it was suppose to do, try and keep you safe in the event of an accident.

Insurance companies well do what ever it takes to save money, otherwise they'd be out of business.
