Here is a picture of a threaded insert made for plastic applications. I have used these successfully many times in radio control aircraft. They available at most hobby shops.

But, I would call Roto-Fab first and ask for their opinion.

Good luck, Alfie
Thanks man. Seems simple enough (if I can get it out). Yeah I'm calling Roto-Fab first to see what they say.

Get some larger vise grips and clamp them on the outside of the raised part of the tube, just to put some extra force on the inserts. Carefully back out the screws.

Trust me, I felt the exact same way. The only true part you could screw up and I did it! There was nothing else I could have done wrong

I called up Roto-Fab. Talked to MIke, everything is cool now. The new intake pipe is on the way. The replacement part is way cheaper than I thought!

That was very painless and quick

Now when it gets here I'll have to cut off the screws and get the sensor off.

Thanks everybody for your help/advice. I know now that I can turn to the forums for help.

Wow I can't believe I screwed up a simple thing like this Intake. My next DIY is: Headers!

Lol I started to do the same thing. Pulled out brass ring and glued it back in. Kicking myself the whole time. I only did one screw and noticed it about three treads in. Just installed another for a friend, did not make same mistake glad it worked out for u. How much was the other tube?

Because no one else said it yet, BE CAREFUL with that MAF sensor!!! Don't leave it sitting around your garage in the dust and don't man handle it too much. Even the slightest damage to that thing and your car is gonna run horribly.

Off topic but what did you take the pics with. It seriously looks like old 60's pics, or a filter to make them look old. Glad to see you got it taken care of though.

Consider yourself lucky you only did one! This is how far out I was, I put one in and noticed it was hard so I backed it out thinking I put it in crooked! Then with that one hanging out I did the other one thinking it would be easier than the other one!

Took the pics with a Nikon Coolpix S550. The look comes from me playing around on flickr with different filters/effects

They really took care of you and I'm guessing you got the part at cost, which is why it was so inexpensive.

I hope the new one worked out for you...BTW, I never read instructions for products until I started writing them! It's a guy thing. LOL Thanks for using our products. There are many choices out there, so we feel fortunate each time someone chooses ours.
