I had to take mine back to the dealer and have one of the shocks (leaking) replaced at less than 1500 miles.

Take it to the dealer. Rear main seal leak is a documented issue on the 2010 camaro. I have seen a couple of Camaros with this leak and you are correct, no drip on the floor, just a big oil stain around the leaky area. Good luck.

Mine's doing this. I took it to the dealer and they put some dye in the oil and told me to put 400 miles on it and bring it back in. After lunch today, I'm headed back up there to see what their 'diagnosis' is.

Took it to the dealer today and they put the dye in. I'll bring it back for the "black light" test. I friggin' hope it's not the rear main... I kind of doubt it, as I did notice oil up near the top of the bell housing - it may be something simpler, I hope. |

My SS is at the dealer awaiting a replacement oil pan. Dealer suspected either the real main seal or the oil pan and hoped it was the rear seal as this is only 4 hrs r&r but it turned out to be leaking at the pan (12 hrs r&r time).
Don't know if it's the gasket or the porosity in the pan casting so the dealer ordered a replacement pan. Hope to have it back Friday. Will advise with the results. |

Oil cooler leaking oil. They do not know if they can get it fixed before the fest. They told me to keep driving it as it is not leaving drops on the ground. Just the bottom of my car is covered in oil. Parts have been in for a few days but they have no tech's anymore. Well they have 1 and 1/2. The half guy I will not let him touch my car since he went joy riding in it one time. Put 5 miles on it to check to see if the a/c house was draining right.
Explain that one to me? |

I have the rear main leak too. I went to the dealer today and after looking at it they said nothing could be done until they heard back from GM. I got a call a little while ago saying they ordered a rear main cap, I am assuming that's the gasket. I bring it in Monday so they can "pull the transmission back" to take a look and replace the "cap" if necessary. I don't like the idea of a new car being pulled apart, but he assured me it's not that big of a job to pull back the transmission. So Monday it goes in and I get a loaner car. Kinda sucks since the car has 150 miles on it!

The Oil Cooler and oil pan gaskets both had to get swapped out on mine. I started a thread about it a while back with pics from my iPhone. I had oil all over my tranny and the underside of the car, but no drips on the garage floor. Mine was found at its second oil change. I haven't noticed anything since it was replaced. Car's going back on the lift tomorrow to get the Eibach suspension installed so I'll take a look and see how she's holding up.
Here is a link to the thread I started with the pic's so you can compair mine to yours. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65548

Picked up my SS last night after replacement of the oil pan for porosity. Analysis verified the oil leak was not from either the real seal or the oil pan gasket so the entire pan was replaced. No drips on the garage floor this am, will take a look at it later this week.
One benefit is my clutch release point is now much closer to the floor vs. near the end of pedal travel as received from the factory. No comments from the dealer about my CAI, X pipe or DT shorty headers. |

What does the oil pan have to do with the clutch?
