V8's are no longer politically correct with the green movement, so you're not apt to see a whole lot of advertising for them. Having said that, here in Canada GM is currently running an advertisement showing 6 or 7 of their vehicles that have received the Consumers Choice Award, which include the Corvette and a Yellow SS Camaro sitting side by side.

the camaro has the best advertising anyone could possibly have...
it is called perma-grin... The advertising for the camaro started in Jan 2006 when they unveiled the silver concept car. GM invited several hundred camaro/firebird enthusiast to attend. I was there. After that pictures, videos hit the internet by storm. It was all over the media, newspapers, magazines, etc... mostly all free advertising raising excitment everywhere. Then Transformers hit the movies..instant hit. This stirred the excitment in kids too. By the time the cars hit the dealerships there are all sorts of free advertising going... heck websites just like camaro5, and mine advertise the car for free..people visit the internet more these days than watch TV. If you have a good product word of mouth advertising is the best, cheapest advertising there is. How many times have you spoken to someone about your car? If someone doesnt know that the new camaro is out on the streets they have been living under a rock. |

Id like to see some advertisements for the camaro as well There have been a few right before transformers 2 hit the theaters, it would be camaro specific first, then it would be a transformers commercial. Kinda like the R8 spyder is with Iron man 2 (great movie). I do like how the mustang commercial features a "customized" mustang. haha. i think GM needs to advertise the camaro with class leading horse power, while still getting 29 highway.

I'm good with it as is. I saw the 1st Transformers movie and was blown away with the "Bumble Bee" Camaro after it's transformation from the old beater. WOW, right then and there I decided someday I would own one! Still loving it and can't believe how HOT of a car it is. I've also seen Camaro's in 2 consecutive weeks on the show Hard Target, and it is also in, The Forgotten, weekly TV shows that are on summer break now. So it gets advertising as is.

The BEST thing GM could have done...and this is my personal opinion...is to get kids excited about Bumblebee. How many Dad's went out and bought yellow Camaros because they sorta wanted a sports car anyways...but their kid wanted Daddy to get Bumblebee...
Or the kids who'll grow up remembering the car from the movies...and look into it. Plus, there's advertisements for the car all over the internet, and they're including the Camaro in their brand-wide spots on TV. Would I like to see a tire-shredding, "thrill" of driving commercial? Oh, hell yeah! I think they're doing all right for the moment, though. |

GM marketing as a whole is a mess right now, and seriously lacking. This is why you don't see commercials, or anything for that matter, anything like (just as an example, even though not everyone has seen them) the new Mustang commercials. Chevy's new, but should never be released, "Excellence for All" tagline disaster is just another example.
This is the same for every GM brand & vehicle, and a reason why there have been so many changes from marketing firms to hiring a new head of marketing recently at Hyundai and Nissan--the best move they could have made, and only move they could make, given how bad things are right now. The Camaro sells itself, period. But that doesn't mean you don't market it. It's the same for a lot of products. Product aside, this has always been GM's biggest struggle and why things are changing, yet again, but hopefully finally once and for all for the best. Read and watch the following to to get up to speed: http://www.latimes.com/sns-ap-us-gm-...,1880864.story http://www.autoextremist.com/current/?currentPage=1 http://www.autoextremist.com/current/?currentPage=2 http://www.autolinedetroit.tv/journal/?p=9608 Thank god for things like Transformers and so on with the Camaro. Marketing is a thing some don't understand, but a reason why some things get off the ground and stay off the ground, and others don't. Hopefully GM's will for once. It never hurts to get more people to know about, want, and buy a hot product for continued years, not just the first and then drop off |

The Camaro doesn't need a commercial. It sells enough through word of mouth and visual sightings.
Also, I think the two Transformers movies would count as its commercial. |

I wish our Transformer wasn't a loser like Bumblebee though. It looks mean enough to be a Decepticon.
