So did Chevy stock go up since Monday???

I imagine This whole Pre-order thing has to be helping the economy right??? after all we are ordering cars which gives someone a job and then the actual sale will strengthen the economy and there will be credit and cash flowing.... Dang we 2010 Camaro buyers are doing our country good!

Someone beat me to it... but yeah.. Canadian jobs at the assembly plant. It would be nice if they still built these cars in Norwood, Ohio... people near me could use the economy boost.

Still... buying a GM car is WAY better than buying a Toyota built here in the US. In the end GM stock will be better off and American's will feel the lift. Now if we can just get the Canadians to come to the states for a nice vacation!

Why is an US company that builds in Canada better than a Japanese company that builds here? Toyota stock is traded on the NYSE?????

I love the Camaro, but not getting your point?

Simple. The parent company, where all the money (profit) ends up going, is in the US, not Japan. Now GM isn't (hasn't) been doing well in the profit part but that's besides the point.

Not simple, they are publicly traded companies the profits go to the share holders. Im all for a company that has the jobs here. I wish the Camaro was being assembled in the US where it would benefit US citzens. For me if that was the sole factor I would choose a car owned by a foreign company but built here over a domestic company who is building in a foreign country. The foreign company is helping the US economy and us workers in that scenario.

Does the general public just not know they can pre-order?

OR

Is this car not selling as fast as we all thought it would?

I'm leaning towards the last unfortunately. I'm actually surprised that the V6 isn't doing much better at taking charge of the allocations. At 300HP, it is the bigger bang for your buck over the V8.
its only been 3 days , chill out. they have until december before they send the orders to the plant. then they have all next year to meat quota. they will be fine. alot of people might be waiting until next year to see their financial status.

Untrue. Dividends (only a small portion) are what go to the shareholders. The bulk of the profit (when there are profits :() remain in the companies to grow, expand, and reinvest.

I ordered mine last night, 2LT , and was third on the list. The first two were 2SS's, but one of them was ordered by the dealers son I was told. Me and my wife were the only ones in the dealership. Other than a few auto magazine ads, and limited tv spots, where has the general public seen the new car? Once GM pushes it in the media, no telling where the buzz will lead.

Hey...the sooner they get me my Camaro, the sooner I can become the best salesman GM ever had and the public will see it.
