question for junkman before he gets here. .

For use with vinyl on the car. . . should we tape over the edges so we don't hit them with the Porter Cable?

Hey FargoMike I saw that bra you mentioned. I too liked it but it only covered the part pf the bumber and not the hood or the top of the facia. Of everything I seen I like Colgang bra so far. I did get my Adams PC kit and what was really cool was Mario Wrote a little note about the back ordered white towels so he sent blue ones and said he send the 2 white whens when they came in. WOW that was really nice thing to do....that was really cool!! ADAMS! Anyway I watched the videos....I'm claying and doing everthing else as should be done. But I noticed after claying he never wiped it off and went straight to the PC. You can still see the film from the clay??? Also he used both polishes with the pc before he wiped it off with the blue towels??? That would save a lot of rubbin' What do you think???

You can tape if you want to. I put a coat of VRT over all plastic and trim before I strat to polish. When I am done with the final coat of wax I simply wipe down the trim and apply a fresh caot of VRT. Taping takes to much time for the same results.

I am picky, I always do another quick wash after clay. Especially if you clay look like this after a 2'x2' section.

Normally I would wipe off after S&H. But if it's FMP/Revive, I would leave it and do a single buff at the end.

u can use the PC on bumpers, just watch out for all the gaps and edges. tape up all plastic trims and emblem. don't want to turn them white with your polish/wax.

I'm about to buy the detail kit from Adams with the PC. Is it best to buy from their site or somewhere else for the best price.

Wax and grease remover? Dawn dish soap wash job? Nothing just use it?
My paint is Black very very smooth but I made the mistake of using Costco China microfiber a couple of times before learning its a no no.
The car is'nt scratch too bad or spider webed.....do I use swirl and hase or go right to polish to not polish the clear coat away too fast?
Thank you.
Use Dawn to remove the old polish. That's the simple part. After claying, start with the Swirl & Haze Remover. Follow that with the Fine Machine Polish and then the wax that came with your kit. Not much to it but to do it!

With that I really don't see claying the car....the paint is very smooooth. It is just spidered here and there with a few scratches. I look forward to Adams products and the Porter Cable.
Have you done the baggie test? The baggie test is the gauge.

I think if you watched my 10-part video series, you would know exactly what to look for with the baggie test. Did you just skip through the videos or did you watch them at all?

It's more like rubbing your fingers across the paint while sand is on it. You feel the grit on the surface.

Yes, mask off the stripes.

He's talking about the vinyl stripes, not the trim pieces.

You can use the PC on the bumpers, but I would get the 4" focal pads. They are great for using the PC to get in tight places.

When you buy the polisher and the kit together, you get a much better price.
