Dont understand diconnecting the battery, the only electrical is the MAF and with key off, it has no voltage anyway.I would think the PCM relearns the long and short term fuel trim as it runs.I installed the K&N with the plastic tube.My personel opinion is that it fits and seals very well.No problem with installation at all. The best part, the sound at WOT!!!...I've driven it about 2,000 miles with no issues and no check engine lamp.

Your right, even the long terms fuel trims adjust very quickly... I view the disconnect as simply an electrical safety measure.. same with the fuses... just a step to protect things...

From what I understood when I installed it, the computer will relearn the airflow even if you don't disconnect the battery, but it takes longer. Now according to scrming, it occurs quickly either way, but like I said, why not do the battery? 5/20 should work just as well from what I have read before.

My butt dyno tells me it's a little more responsive. Nothing earth-shattering, but it does feel like when I put my foot down, it gets going quicker.

I guess I'm a little confused. What changed about the sound that you like so much?

Have you ever had a CAI before? The intake gives the engine a real Throaty sound under the hoood, and roars when you get on it, imo, it sounds like i got a big beefy V8 under the hood, it really sounds niiiiiice!!! I had a intake on my 05 Dodge Ram 1500 with a HEMI, it sounded so good aswell, thats why i wanted a intake on my Camaro.

Ive only heard the cai in a friends car, but you can hear it sucking air when you step on the gas. Sounds cool. Since theres only a small performance gain over stock. You have to decide if its worth the money for the sound.
