MSD digital shift light and SJM roll control is also going in for the strip.
Why not shoot for 10's or 11's, the new 5.0 just did it with 480whp but only because he had the right rubber people are saying. I thought these SS's were good for high 12's stock? At least thats what everyone is saying in the new 5.0L threads.

That's what I put on 315/35 R 20' NT05R's. You can see them on the car in the Canada forum (Mopac Street Legals)

I'm just giving you a hard time. A three thenth improvement in the 60' is great! I never thought my car would be headed for the ten so you never know. Hey, as long as your happy it's all gd. Continued success with your car, however fast you go. I don't think that you'll have a problem surpassing your goal.

Ive been looking for some cheap vette rims for track use only. The 40mm offset of the C6 front rim is ideal i take it. But have heard of others using spacers to make other rims fit. My question is how thick of a spacer is to much? Will 18" rear C5s work or is that rim out of question?

That is the set up I wanted to go with but I can't see spending the money on the tires and rims when I ran a 2.0 60ft with stock wheels and tires with 36 psi. Car has all stock suspension.

I'm looking at making this decision soon myself. I'm thinking I can get it down to a 2.0 on stock tires/car with a good prep.

Depends on how it does on the stock tires before I make a decision on rears 18 or 20"s.

Heard people talk about starting to break shafts dead hooking on 17-18" slicks or radials. But I'm guessing this is modded and not stock cars.

We not having problems like the 4th gen 10 bolts breaking all the time with 6-speeds. My understanding is the IRS is fairly strong from the factory, but I don't know the common RWHP or 60' before people start breaking rear parts?

18" drag radials will work better than 20" drag radials.

I run 305/35/20 Nitto 555R Drag radials and my best 60' is 1.74 sec (which isn't bad for bolt ons), but if I were running 18" drag radials (305/45/18), I'm sure I'd be down in the 1.6x sec range.

The 20" drag radials are lower profile with less side wall flex and they just don't grip as well as the 18" drag radials.

Zombie thread! LOL

Get some lighter 18s for the track. Driving around on drag radials all the time will wear them out.

I know people that have snapped the stock axles, on the street, on street tires... If you race the car, even on OEM tires -- you're rolling the rolling the dice on breakage if you have a manual trans..

Autos I believe are a little harder to snap. So, lucky you.

I just picked up a pair of 20in rears to put drs on. My best 60 is 2.17 on street tires (slipping the clutch through first.Car has a few bolt-ons so 20in should be fine for me.

Just installed 18" all around the car and I will say this, the pure weight savings alone is worth the swap. Stock 20" wheel/tire 71 lbs, aftermarket 18" wheel/tire 46 lbs.

Anyone who can point me in the right direction to buy a decently priced set of 18" rims? I will be running the NT05R also. Will only use for track use.
