Ok, here is the scoop,
Just got off the phone with JL and they said a cap will not affect the RIP power supply. They said one would not hurt any of their amps. A cap will also not void any JL warranty.
Obviously you would need to check the rest of the charging system to be certain it is adequate to supply heavy audio loads. For this build the stock alt. and battery are good enough for 1000 watts. The cap is just another performance adder much like putting in better plugs or nitrogen in your tires. Some will say they are worthless and others say it’s a must.
Also JL turned my amp around in only 5 days and will be here Friday! I will post final pics and DB numbers soon!

the only thing the cap really is useful for is to smooth out charging ripple. the problem with Capacitors in most applications they become simply a bandaid for a mmore serious problem... usually need for upgraded charging system.

My only question and this is only because I just finished my whole setup.. Why didnt you mount the CAP and the relay box in the drivers side gap in the backside of your system layout? That would have made it look nearly invisible but still exposed for competition points. Just a gorgeous sub in a perfectly designed box That would theoretically be where your power and ground wires could be fed to keep the wiring of the amp invisible as well. and just mount the amp with spacers and tuck the cables behind. for a perfect clean Holy-SHIZ install. I still love the layout tho!

Thanks for the comments! The amp will be mounted on the left facing out. The only wires that will be seen will b jumpers from the amp to cap. I wanted to keep everything out so people could see as much as possible of the hardware. Its nice to inform people of the inner workings.
At a recent show a lady asked "what is the box thingy on the right, does it make the car go faster?"I said sure its my FLUX CAPACITOR.
