Maybe like the BBK fiasco, there has been an unintentional change in the production parts at EE that has gone unnoticed.
As a customer I really don't care, the point is I shouldn't have to go through this with 50% of the Camaro5 vendors I have dealt with. Everyone rushed a product to market as a new cash cow was born and as what has become BAU in the 21st century, quality is not job one. Customer care after the fact, though commendable, does not cure all.

You have a good point there.

Elite is redesigning there oil catch can attachment bracket, making it slightly longer I suspect. I suspect the vendor of the large button head bolt changed the head shape slightly causing the interference between it and the oil catch can I experienced. I will report on the new bracket once I receive it from Elite.

From what I see is provided $175 is expensive and for that price there should be NO adjustments necessary.

How about getting it right before shipping the product out to market?

It appears that the company that supplies the 10mm mounting bolt was high on their tolerance when finishing the screw head. As a result, there was some interference when this batch of screws was installed into our mouthing shaft.

Our solution: we're scrapping all our original brackets and re-making them so this can not happen again. We'll accommodate for any variance in screws on future orders.

Sorry for the headache. Unfortunately this can happen when bringing a new product to the market. But our goal has always been to work with our customers to ensure their 100% money back satisfaction with a product that we feel is better than our competition.

Steve

The upside of this is I am a believer in the oil catch can concept as my Elite catch can has already captured a bit of oil that otherwise would have been sent to the intake manifold. I am also confident Elite will fix this issue once and for all. Look forward to getting my new bracket and bolt.

I finally received the newly redesigned oil catch can bracket from Elite, after I sent a reminder email, so I have to wonder had I not sent the email if I'd still be waiting. The new mounting brackets fits as it should now though the threads in the mounting shaft where it threads on the existing engine mounting stud were a bit snug. After this experience and the one I had with BBK ( though both were ultimately resolved ) I have decided to sit on the fence and wait to do any additional upgrades to my car. The rush to put products out there for the new cash cow ( 2010 Camaro ) has corrupted the quality of some companies products. If you want my business in the future, it better be right when I purchase it, not after the fact. Ed M.
