VERY much the same. If you were to have put these on my car over night without me knowing, and I didn't take a corner hard, I MIGHT not have even noticed.

So, about those Pfadt springs. I see on the website that there is only one setup for both the V6 and V8 cars.
Everyone who has posted about these here has an SS. Has anyone tried them on a V6 car? My concern is about the slightly different weight distribution and the mildly different (sprung) weight between the two. How do these springs work out on a V6 car? Is the same spring rate harsher on the front and softer on the rear as compared to an SS? Differing ride heights? I notice that the website says they lower the car somewhere between 1" and 1.25" which is very understandable due to different option, fuel, load, and modification weights, but how would an equivalently optioned V6 car lower compared to a V8 car? (We'll say 1SS vs. 2SS) If the front of the V8 car is heavier and the rear of the V8 car is a tad lighter (as I understand it is), that should mean the V6 will be comparatively lower in the rear and higher in the front, softer in the rear and harsher in the front (however slightly). Can anyone confirm? PfadtRacing? Anyone else? |

So... How did it affect the V6s different than the V8s if any?

V6 Merlin loves his new lowered look and performance thanks to Pedders springs - me too!
The ride isn't altered that much - I actually like the feel of being a bit closer to the road, and the visibility is a bit improved, too. Road imperfections that were harsh in the car in "OEM" state are only a tad moreso now, but the often-accompanying steering wheel shudder is gone. I wouldn't return him to the original stance for anything :-) |

![]() It looks like the rear is lower than the front in the pics in that thread, does it sit like that all the time? If so, that would partly confirm what I mentioned above. Did you happen to have ride height measurements taken before and after the springs? If so, how much did they lower it once it was settled? Do you have anything else done to your car that affects its weight? Did you have bigger sway bars installed? Thanks again! I desperately "need" to lower my car and I've been researching the springs available and haven't been too happy with what I've been reading, but these Pfadt's seem to be getting 'close'. I only want a 1" drop all around, and nothing much more harsh because the factory shocks aren't capable of handling a high spring rate (based on multiple reports here of bouncing or "pogo'ing" after lowering [with other springs], even the SLP ZL575 with its Eibach springs). At the same time they need to be somewhat stiffer to keep from pounding the bump stops all the time. Suspension travel is good. The reports here are so far dead-on to my liking about the ride, but I'm not so sure about the V6 stance or spring rate balance yet. Unfortunately since this is my DD, it's the car that has the meager mod budget so I can't spring for coilovers (pun intended ). The other car gets all the real goodies.

if the ride quality remains pretty much the same, than i may go with springs. have been reading good things about pedders. but they still lack the adjustability of coils.

The weight difference between the V6 and V8 models is VERY minimal (equivalent to a full tank of fuel). When backed out to individual wheel-rate requirements, there will be no difference between the performance results. This is why we only have one spring set for the Camaro chassis. The performance goal for both V6 and V8 models, are identical in our opinion, so it doesn't matter to us, what you have, just like it doesn't matter how much fuel you have. We engineered our products to work as an upgrade to either set up. I think you have the right idea, however the actual values become as in-percievable as the car is with empty vs. full fuel load. I would not have that as a major concern. We have sold tons of lowering spring sets to V6 owners, hopefully some may happen upon this thread and chime in. |

MEET MERLIN. HE'S BEEN DROPPED AND A 6 CYLINDER! Pete and myself just got back from a hugh Pedders event at Back Street in Medina, OH. We had 80-90 cars there, and not really sure how many people. We were packed. I am not sure why, but I always refer to our special rides as a "she." Maybe it is great love for the car. I will also say the love of our cars is much more a guy thing than a girl thing. BUT, there are a serious amount of ladies out there that have all the same passion as us guys. And guess what? They name their sweet rides male names! LOL I think this is so cool. I had the absolute distinct pleasure of working on a 6 cylinder RS Camaro with OE 20's The VERY proud owner has named her, or him Merlin. So to the great Camaro community, I would like to introduce you to Merlin after he as been dropped with Pedders, upgraded his subframe bushings, and front radius rod bushings: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now this is why Merliin is loved so much. We call this our Pedderized smile, which was taken after her extended road test ![]() thanks, mike dms |

Which vendor has good prices on the pedders/pfadt springs/sway bar package? What is the drop on these two sets of springs? Are both progressive? Spring Rate? I'm sure I can research this all online but I'm lazy lol
