I took the original engine cover, scuffed it down and and sprayed it using spray cans. Then I used a fine paint brush and went over the CHEVROLET with red to make it stand out. Before the maggie, the centre of the cover was yellow as well. After the maggie install I cut out the centre and notched them in a few places to get them to fit. The right side is pretty solid with just the filler cap holding it in place, but the driver side required a tab to be fabbed up to hold it in place. Took a couple of hours from start to finish, but I think it was worth it.

Depending on the weather I hope to get to test and tune night at the strip tomorrow. They glue the track for weekend racing but not for test and tune night. So I will let you know how I make out.
I guess there are two canned tunes according to horsepower tv. Do you know which one you are using? Also, are the shift points still the same 5900-6000 for the L99? I don't even know which motor you have ls3 or l99? If you have the l99 did they turn off the AFM?

I know this is a little off the original topic, but my car is a LS3 so I can't comment on the tune for the L99. Also I didn't know there was more than one tune from Magnuson, but my supercharger kit was put together on April 30, 2010 if that helps.

On another unrelated event, I did make it out to test and tune night at the dragstrip. I must say there is definately a steep learning curve on learning how to drive this car at the track. The biggest issue now is how to get a good launch. I tried a couple different approaches that either left the car bogging at the line or getting into a wheel hop from getting on it too hard. My best launch was at about 2500RPM. It still had some wheel hop so I couldn't get on it as hard as I wanted to. Another thing I tried was not letting of the throttle when shifting. This seemed to work well for going from 2-3 snd 3-4, but 1-2 was way too violent. I don't think the stock axles would take that too many times. So I went back to letting off for the 1-2 shift.

So just to let you know, my best time was a 12.70 at 113mph, with a 60ft of 2.126 That is running on the stock tires and suspension. Oh and the temp was about 75 with the humidity around 60%. I know my car can do better, so I will be trying again after a few more upgrades and tweaks. The only good thing was I did have the fastest street car there. Even the Mustang GT with a whipple at 13psi and 565rwhp had a best time of 13.66
