It is not south of Joliet..............it is in Joliet on the far east side!! It is the same tracks that I mentioned earlier in this thread. Im a Sergeant for Joliet PD and we work all the Overtime at the NHRA event at the Drag Strip and NASCAR this weekend. Im out there working 30 + hours of overtime. It is called Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet IL for a reason.
If you really want a state of the art Drag Strip Route 66 is it.

"Route 66 Raceway is the first True Stadium of drag racing. Founded in 1998 by nine local entrepreneurs, the NHRA-affiliated, quarter-mile drag strip is now fully owned and operated by the International Speedway Corporation and is sister track to Chicagoland Speedway, a 1.5-mile, D-shaped tri-oval that annually plays host to NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series, IndyCar and ARCA events. Route 66 Raceway annually hosts weekend ET Bracket Series racing, NHRA Jr. Drag Racing, NHRA Lucas Oil Series and NHRA Full Throttle Series professional drag racing events. The Route 66 Raceway property also includes a half-mile dirt oval track."

The Autobahn is not a raceway for just anybody to drive on. You have to have a membership or friends with a lot of money to get you in with your car.
They do occasionally sponsor events for us regular people but not to many.
I got to drive the entire race track in my Squad for a Defensive Driving Course I had a couple of months ago.
