there are about a 1/2 dozen aftermarket shifters that would be more desirable than the hurst. Not that the hurst is a bad shifter, just that the others are better.

BTW, I have the MTI and love it!

Ask 100 people and you'll get 100 different opinions on which short throw is best. I have the Hurst and it's unbelievable! I'll tell you if you haven't driven the stock shifter you'll be surprised at how good it is to start. Then when you install a short throw shifter it's insane the difference. It's a must have.

I had the Hurst ordered on my 2011 1SS but took it off the build order and it went straight to a production status. The MGW is looking like the way to go but I will do more research on options. Word is that the Hurst shifter is a go ahead to be installed in production cars in Late August!!! This is supposedly an entire shifter unit not a shifter handle like the aftermarket version.

Isn't the factory Hurst shifter different than the aftermarket one?

MGW seems very well regarded in every application I can think of. Haven't personally had a chance to try one yet though because I have no reason to replace my pro 5.0 yet (don't believe they make one for the 5th gen yet). It's honestly the only shifter I can think of that I haven't heard anybody say they liked another unit better.

To the guys who have tried more than one shifter: what would you say the difference was between the various units you've personally tried? For example I had a B&M Ripper on my 97. I didn't like how long the stick was, which couldn't be changed, and I thought it felt overall numb. My Pro 5.0 if a very communicative, notchy shifter. I and many others love how the Pro 5.0 feels, but I know others don't care for the notchy-ness.
