Cooler is better to a degree, look at the chart it doesnt go below 170
Operating temp is crucial..

I dont think theres anything wrong with 150 and up temps to about 220
Below or over those numbers are not good..

Its all good camaro1

Tranny fluid is oil, just like your engine oil. You don't go out and beat on your car when your engine oil is cold, do you? That was my point with my earlier post. At what point is cooler tranny fluid a problem? From the chart above, 170-200 is perfectly fine. Since mine runs at ~180 in this Arkansas heat, I think i'm good. If it starts to become a problem, i'll for sure look at Andy's kit.

I dont know what part of Arkansas you live in rather than what your name says. I have a Camaro with an A6 automatic. Back in April I went up to Eureka springs AR and ran through the Mountains in Mena ( Beautiful to say the least and a workout for sure on my car )
With the altitude and the air my car never ran anything cooler than above 180 and the whole time I was in Arkansas I didnt like where the car ran temp wise especially when it rained as soon as I got back to Texas it got back around normals temps.

a Trans cooler is cheap insurance for an A6 automatic. The #1 thing that is bad for the A6 is heat. why not spend a few $$$$$$ and save yourself from a Big investment ? With the Humidity and heat we have down south HEAT is bad on on these trannys. nothing Sucks more than having to settle down on driving as I had to up in the mountains of Mena because the Tranny is heating up.

yeah 200 can be seen very easily down here daily when its 105 with 90% humidity thats why its called cheap insurance for a tranny.

You never know whats gonna happen with weather down here.

and for people like a few of us who have Stall converters well the Cooler helps.

We are just giving props to a good product if yall dont agree then go on and dont worry about those who love what we have and want to protect what we have.

Number_9 lives in DFW just as i do and he runs his car at the track on a regular basis especially with the heat nearly topping out at 100degree the transmission cool helps him a lot im almost positive.

My original post was to ask the question as to the need of a tranny fluid cooler. No one bashed Andy's kit or said anything bad about it. I'm sure it's a great kit and does it's job well.

I think I posted that if there was a need i'd look at the kit. Obviously you think you need one and that's perfectly fine. For me, I haven't seen the temps you're seeing. Central Ark, is the Little Rock area and it gets as hot here as anywhere else in the state. I never noticed my tranny temps going above 180ish even in the 100degree heat. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters.

I know man I never said anyone was bashing ADM's cooler. I was just stating for future situations a Trans cooler is a Good cheap mod for an automatic car. You never know when you may get in places like I was and get where you need one.
I hope you never do see the warm temps either because they are not fun to deal with.
I was there around Mid-April when the storms were rolling through and lets just say I Ran through yalls mountains @ High speeds chasing a friends Z06 so I wasnt exactlly easy on my car and as we went higher and higher I probably went Faster. Also the streets were lined with Pine pollen due to yall having a very dry spring. Yeah I put my car through hell this was a Trip to Break in my car and I think it really broke it in. Good luck man with the A6 hope it keeps going at the temps you have had

I sure wish I can have driven around DFW 65/70 on the highway this time of year and not have to worry about my tranny warming up.

oh well its all good im all taken care of now .

Good luck

Serious question here, so pardon the ignorance. What is better about the ADM kit (besides obvious convenience) than getting one of the existing aftermarket universal tranny cooler kits (like B&M or similar), finding a good spot to mount it, and modifying the coolant line routing accordingly?

I wouldnt call that ignorance or a stupid question. Rather than get into why I think so maybe ADM or Number_9 can step in and say something here.

Understand when you get something from ADM you get Very top quality product and it shows when looking at it.

The kit is beautiful and is a good idea for a vertered car.
But to say 180 to 210 trans temps are not okay is ignorance..

Nothing wrong with doing it your self,we just specialize in making the best possible product available for camaros at a fair and reasonable price.

Call RPM TRANSMISSIONS and ask them about our trans coolers. They recommend them to all their customers.
