E85 requires the computer to adjust. My Flex/Fuel Yukon has run on both and no E85 did not give it monster power, it gave it shitty mileage.

I do have a question regarding using 100% gas. Do you have to worry about the engine getting dirty? I use only "Top Tier" gasoline in mine and Shell has Nitrogen enriched and Chevron has Techron to keep the engine from getting "gunked" up. If I use 100% gas do I need to add additives to the tank when I fill or after so many miles?

From everything I have read and researched, any noticeable difference between 10% and 0% is in your head. However going from an off brand or grocery store gas to a top shelf product may make a difference. IMHO, don't worry about the 10% and just make sure you buy from a quality gas station.

Unless it's for your lawn mower, weed eater, or outboard boat motor...then you have plenty to worry about. I hear there are some new additives that will help neutralize the ethanol for we fishermen.

No top tier gas has more detergent additive than the rest.
Check it out at www.toptiergas.com

It will work fine in your car. My motorcycle on the other hand can sit for any length of time without an additive or I get to spend $300 to fix it's carburetors. Pisses me off.

>>Pisses me off.

I'm with ya! Anything carbed is going to have problems with E10 fuel.

Not to mention ya get to pay more for it in several different ways. It cost more, less mpg, tax subsidy of about ~.51 cents a gallon, and a "false demand" has been created for corn leading to higher commodity prices.

The list could go on, but enough of a rant on this subject, I'm pissed off more just writting about it......

wreaks havoc on anything carburated, especially small engines/Harley's.. had to do alot of work to my bike's carb and ignition to even run this crap gas.. Anything with injection especially today's cars should run it with no problem. Basically it's what us up north have referred to as our "winter mix" for years... won't freeze, but your performance and mileage sure do suffer... also, don't store your car with alot of this gas in the tank.. for some reason if it sits alot as in months it causes alot of damage/moisture/corrosion issues...

Yep, it's hygroscopic, you guys storing your 10 Camaros for the winter take heed. The red Sta-bil doesn't work. On some of the other forums they are saying the marine version of Sta-bil is the way to go with E10.

I think you do get worse gas milage with ethanol/gas blend but get more power. Ethanol is alcohol. If you could run pure ethanol you would get even more power. I saw a TV show on this a while ago about ethanol gas. In Brazil you can by gas, a gas ethanol blend of 40%, or pure ethanol at the gas station.
