I found a solution for those that don't want to drive their car after washing. I bought a Metro Blaster Sidekick dryer and blew the water out of the brake calipers. Parked the car and absolutely no sticking!

2011 2SS Parking Brake sticking

I have a 2011 2SS camaro and I have a problem with the rear emergency brake sticking. Every time I use my emergency brake, and I do quite often parking the car cause it is a manual transmission, when I put the car in first and pull forward, I can hear the rear brakes dragging. I have to get up to 10 to 15 mph and slowly pull back up on the emergency brake lever and at the same time hold the release button in. When I do this I hear a loud clunk under the rear of the car and they release instantly. Does anyone else have a problem similiar to this?

Your description of the problem requires immediate attention. I suggest you get your 5th Gen to the Dealer straight away. My guess is the cable is binding for whatever reason and preventing a full release of the hand brake.

Sounds like one of the shoes is not retracting properly, as Pete said, get it to the dealer and have it looked at.

J. R. Deel, have you been into your dealership about your concern yet?

Never ever have I ever had this problem.I've even washed my car, pulled it in to the garage, and let it sit for over two weeks. Not even having a hint of brake lockup.

It is perfectly normal. I am in the vehicle wash industry (I am a car wash equipment distributor) and, trust me, this is normal.

How about just going to the local carwash? You get the giant leaf blower and you can dry your brakes on the way home.

I did take the car to the dealership and they pulled the right rear wheel and said everything looked ok. They said it appeared to be brake dust binding the shoes. I wash the rear brake caliper and wheel with a soft brush everytime I wash the car. I plan on taking the car back to let them inspect the problem.
