Some people can't complain enough when another comapany does something they disagree with, but are noticably quiet when 'their' car company does the exact same thing.

DING-DING-DING Exactly what I was thinking. Any time a dealer is involved and thinks he/she can inflate the profit margin beyond what's fair - they probably will. NOT saying all dealers would scam their own grandmother out of her last dollar but it's surprisingly easy to find one (or 100) that would.

Back to the topic - glad to see the Boss 302 back in it's new iteration!

Ford has always had specialty Mustangs. SVO, Cobra R, Bullit, Mach 1. This news doesn't really surprise me but I bet it's a CAI, tune and suspension. I doubt ford will do much more. I would guess the SS gets a small HP increase for 2012. That seems to be the m.o. for GM. I'm holding out hope for a 3.73

I'm hoping GM offers the gear with warranty intact. I will be first in line.

There is no doubt Ford dealers rode that horse into the ground. The first car I can remember being sold for more than sticker was the Mazda Miata. I am sure markups were happening before that but I was just not aware of it. I can't think of any dealer brand that has not had cars that were priced for more than msrp before. Z06 Corvettes were going for 20k over sticker in 07'.

What did they do?

I ordered my 2011 form a fancy orange county dealership for msrp back in February, three month's before the testers even got their hands on them. Anybody smart enough to join an online forum is not going to pay adm in this economy. 2011's are already being sold 1k over invoice and 2010's are going for up to 5k off msrp.

Good! another "special" car will add fuel to the HP fire. Then GM will bring out a new one with a little more power, then ford, then GM..... All the while bringing out more aftermarket parts and making my 1SS cheaper to modify!! mwuahahahaha

.. .but seriously this is cool. keep 'em coming

They made 2 billion in profit last quarter and that is without the 2011. Not dead either way.

Im guessing this will be similiar to the Bullitt. A few upgrades, but nothing too drastic.

Time will tell.

I hope it's more than just some stickers.

You can't revive the "BOSS" legacy to piss all over it.

Not all dealerships are idiots, But I've seen with my own eyes markups on GT500s over 22k. Not lately, but they took advantage in the past.

As for the "nobody smart enough to join and online forum" remark...

LOL...you made an Angry Amish-man smile today.
I'll just leave it at that. Lets just say that the most "challanged" people I've met have been at either Wal-Mart or online.

Not sure what you paid for your Camaro but I will say I paid less than MSRP for my GT500 and my GT.

Back OT. I am not a fan of this idea. If it is watered down, not a good mark for Ford.
This isn't a Camaro/Ford thing fanboy. I'm not here to debate you on which marks up worse. Truth is, Chevy and Ford have limited say in what dealerships do. The only reason I was strictly talking about Ford is because we are talking about a Ford product.
