^^^^I think this is connected with the loose spoiler bolts issue. Warranty should cover it.

I have quite a few chips in my front fascia. Haven't reported them to the dealer or anything. I'll probably get Dr. Paintchip or something of that sort. Some people on here have used it with good results so I may do that.

to BlemsBumble: that's what I thought also first and might be the case but as I tried spoiler with hand, it feels that it doesn't move at all. anyway I strongly advise everybody to check their cars as this is not easy to spot but might cause serious corrosion issues if not taken care of. I will take my car to dealer tomorrow, let's see what they say...

went to see dealer today. bodyshop guy said that they have fixed few cars with the same problem and it is caused by too thin two sided tape that is used underneath the spoiler. lid is going to get repainted. everybody should check their spoilers.

I believe the piece behind the rear wheel is made of flexible plastic. The gills are not... plus they flare out facing debrit from the front tire.

I have a 2010 SS, purchased in August 2009. Washed every single week,by hand, waxed four times per year, by hand. Front facisia has countless chips, along with both rear panels. I even installed mud flaps after owning the car for three months. This issue is most disappointing.

My 13 year old Ford F-150 with 150,000 miles has far better paint and very few paint chips.

I am otherwise reasonably happy with the car, but would I buy it again? Maybe. For 36k I had hoped for more.

This proves my point... we didnt have the EPA regulations 13 years ago that there are today. Welcome to water based paints. By the way this is common with ever vehicle manufacturer... not just GM.

I have a 2011 Rally Yellow Vert with a paint chip on my door. My wife thought she noticed a bubble and touched it. It popped off in her hand. I still have the chip in a bag to take to the dealer. The car has about 1100 miles on it. So is there a recall on this?

First time posting on here and it's taking a time to read thru everything.

The dealer was selling me paint sealer for $200. Anyone have this, and was it worth it?

It's basically just a wax/polish that they call sealer. You can pick up a bottle of your favorite sealer for probly around $20 so I would pass.

I have a 2011 Camaro 2SS that I purchased new in Nov. 2011. After 2500 miles of normal driving conditions the paint along the sides, gills, and wheel wells was horribly chipped and totally missing in some areas. Fortunately the dealership where I purchased the vehicle is going to touch up (with a big brush, I imagine) the paint and install a clear shield product made by 3M, gratis. I called them today to see about splash guards/quarter flares, which I would pay for. GM's official response to the dealership, and me, through the district after-sales manager, was for me to file a claim with my insurance company and have them pay to repaint the car. Really? Every 2500 miles? I'm grateful that the dealership is helping me out. GM should be embarrassed.
