Wow..so now its the ITS A PIG ! thing..LOL. Please explain...its simple math. The new engine is 10 lbs more. The new Trany weighs less than the one in the older version. So bembro Brakes, (optional) and 19inch wheels(optional) and a track pack(optional) is going to cause the car to gain 400~500 pounds and make it weigh more than a Camaro ??? I mean really.
Last time I checked, they are still using the same platform with a new drive-train. So how does a car gain that much weight ??? C'Mon Maaaaan.... |

The Camaro would not only lose in a drag race, but it would be beat on the track because the "track pack" makes up for no IRS. My contention is that the SS comes standard with 20's and Brembos and IRS and you need to ADD OPTIONS to the mustang to compete. I don't care how much lighter the base car is because you're going to end up in the tire barrier with those stock brakes fading and the base suspension. So, what you end up doing is comparing the base weight of a stripper model to a much more capable base model Camaro. A Mustang with no track pack and the tiny all season tires will not beat a stock SS on the track. It's pretty simple. |

I'm taking bets from anyone who thinks the stock Camaro SS will outrun the stock 2011 Mustang 5.0.
I just don't like the dated Mustang styling or SRA, but then I choose performance and fun over style. |
