That would be a "flip-flop" if I said anywhere in this thread that this new M5 you speak of would outperform the current CTS-V. Everyone would agree the M3 outperforms the SS (price didn't win the race), but you could argue the SS is the better value (price won the consumer).

Or in other words: The M3 outperforms the SS, just like it supposed to do giving the price difference. However, why would you buy an M3 when you could get a much better performance value out of an SS? (Price difference does not choose who wins a race, but it chooses which is the better overall value to the consumer.) Just like a person can argue a Cobalt SS is a better value for your money, but the Camaro SS can still beat the Cobalt SS stock for stock.

Viable means "capable of living and growth" as in "GM is now a viable company"...I still think you meant "valid"....

However, until the new M5 is released, the current CTS-V is a lot better value than the current M5.
Sorry, just had to make one more post. I didn't disagree with any of what you just said in this post. All I said was I can't wait for the next M5, since Cadillac aimed for the M5, and now it's BMW's turn.

I really don't see what you are trying to prove here?
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/viable
Look at the third definition: Capable of working, functioning, or developing adequately. Then it says viable alternatives. Viable is possible in the context in which I was writing.
Please, just stop typing about this nonsense, you aren't proving anything

I would hope the epitome of American performance engineering could beat the M3, considering it's sole mission is not just to go fast.
Ever hear of the M3 CSL?

Cadillac has been aiming for years, and they finally got it. It's like the guy who loses ten straight games of chess, then finally wins one and starts gloating. The M5 came out way before the CTS-V, it would have been pathetic if the CTS-V wasn't better. Now BMW knows about the CTS-V, and since a next gen M5 is due in about a year I would be shocked if it wasn't a CTS-V killer.
So basically everything you decide goes? This gives anyone trying to hold an intelligent debate with you and extreme difficulty even trying to imagine you with an open mind. It sounds like the person who just lost their first game of chess crying and making excuses.

As for the second bolded part. Are you saying that the CTS-V is the first car that got it right? Maybe it's the first time that caddilac has made a car that can compete with a "sports" sedan. Wouldn't that make it the first chess game, not the tenth?

I give a good looking car a stare, be it exotic, muscle, rare, or just down right expensive. There is no special kind of stare aside from fubar'ed rice and ugly junkers.

No I don't have a camaro.
Yes I'm getting one.
Yes I'm impressed by cars no matter what brand makes them and considered an M3.
No I'm not a fanboy.
Yes I call people out for stupidity and contradiction.
No you're not right in almost every one of your arguments.
Yes we can all just agree to disagree, even with your super fanboy-biased opinion.

I think we all hope for BMW's sake that they can engineer their upcoming all-new M5 to outperform the current CTS-V for all that additional money.

Competition is good because GM might come back with a better CTS-v midcycle (drop the LSA for the LS9). It's the competition we can thank for such great GM cars.
