You might see some slight gains from doing a cat-back exhaust with high-flow cats but not much. If you do go with a high-flow cat-back kit you might want to consider a resonated x-pipe to reduced the rasp at high rpms. Some people like it. Most dont. I think the general consensus with the guys and gals in our club is that the SLP loudmouth (not sure which version though) sounds best. Other good axle-back kits to look up are Flowmaster American Thunder and MRT V2. Have you done a cold-air intake yet?

No I have not yet but I have decided I want to go wit the A CAI from cold air industries. Not sure yet really to go with axle back out cat back exhaust. It is a v6. I want to get the most power and sound from it.

If I do cat back exhaust I was thinking headers to go with it in the future. I'm new to performance so I've been reading a lot about it. I appreciate any advice too.

Lol well I got bad news for you... the 3.6 liter LFX has an integrated exhaust manifold in the cylinder heads. If you pop your hood you'll only see a single exhaust pipe coming out of each head. It's good for a "wait, what the hell?" from anybody who notices it for the first time. Cat-back'll cost more but you won't have to cut your exhaust off. That's a good thing if you ever want to go back to stock. Axle-back kits are a cinch to install and if you aren't happy with the pipe clamps you can always get an exhaust shop to weld them on for you on the cheap.

I don't mean to sound dumb. Could you explain integrated exhaust manifold and what this means to me? So you are saying cat backs are good if I want to go back stock later. ..but because of the manifold headers will not work? Thanks

*****Nevermind I answered my question reading through threads.

Yeah the 2010-11's have the LLT v6 without the integrated manifold. So those engines can do aftermarket headers, but none of the 2012-15's with the LFX v6 can. They changed a couple little things from that engine to ours like the intake manifold, so our engines did pick up a little more horsepower and slightly better fuel efficiency.

This ^^^ I run the CAI cold air with SLP Loudmouth 1. It's a muffler delete kit. Wish us LFX guys and gals could have headers.

Do you have cats too or just muffler delete kit? You think they worth the money for the lfx?

I have stock cats. I love my setup. It's got a nice cold start sound and it screams when you romp on it. Sounds great for a sixer.
