Not sure I would get rid of either one of mine, but I would sell my body to science....the science of testing a new Z28

So as I do most days, even when I should be studying for a Mechanics of Materials final, I sit here a read how everyone wants a 50 grand Z28 and my question is why?

I know Ford has the GT500, but should the Z really compete with it? To me it just isn't the history of the Z to go up against the GT500, its always been a car a high school kid or young person could work hard for and buy and the the GT500 was a older mans car who had a strong study job with more ready cash.

Oh well I guess, back to the books.

It's not in Z28 history to have leather, IRS, OnStar, etc. I'm not trying to get on you, but if we only consider history, we wouldn't be enjoying the advancements of EFI and modern conveniences. I'm probably taking you post a little out of context, but it just seems like that mentality can really limit the potential of what Camaro can be. To see it go up against foreign and domestic cars and do so well says so much of how far the car has come and how much GM wants our business. I think the broader the target, the more profit and potential for Camaro to be successful. We should at least match and exceed all direct competitors, IMO.

I think that is one of the debates on the forums, should a Z28 be "more' than the SS or more basic than the SS?

Frankly the base car is so good it sure doesn't seem reasonable to slot something in between the two cars, so that only leaves up.

Of course that is assuming there ever is such a thing. Maybe GM will just leave the Corvette to compete with the GT500, same price range, similar peformance. Hmmmmmm

See thats what I am thinking, let the Corvette and GT500 fight I know one is a true sports car and one is a Pony car, I say take the SS give it a suspension upgrade and road course engine tune instead of a quarter mile tune and call it a Z28.

Oh and I just found out I got a C in Differential equations

Also new for the 2012 will be a little something called the Camaro Z28. Perhaps you've heard of it once (or a million times) before. Why wait until the 2012 model year? Our source says so it doesn't step on the toes to the convertible which will be the Camaro's "big news for 2011."
*ahem*
