And for others that don't know, this thread was the one that put me over the top on buying the VR.
Yeah, I had no idea this thread would take on a life of it's own. It's obvious that Vararam is really getting some action as evidenced by the amount of views in this thread. It really does amaze me. Bottom line, it's a great product, and people are finding that out.

To be honest, my Halltech is setting in the floor right beside me still in the box it was shipped in. It’s been there for over a week now and I can’t open it because I want to sale it brand new in the box and I can’t send it back because the restocking fee is 20%. I wish I would have known about the VR when I was comparing all the intakes I would have one by now. What to do......what to do………

I would just sell it. Get the most you can for it and move on. Modding a car is costly, but it is so fun. However, having a part on your car you don't want is not fun. Put it up here. It will be gone pretty quickly I would think.

Well, I'm not sure that the price you will get for it slightly used versus brand new would be that different. This being the case, perhaps you should try it, you may really like it. And then get the VR and try it. Sell the one you aren't as found of. Doing it this way you will be able to appreciate the one you keep even more.

How far NW are you (PM if you want)? I would be happy to meet you so you can check one out before you commit. Heck we could throw my VR on your car so you can see for yourself what we are talking about.

I had busineses on my service route in Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, Siloam Springs, and Bentonville.

PM sent.

I want the one that makes more power and from my research I've found it.....the VR. That’s one reason I was so excited about your test. We have our Camaro meeting in two weeks maybe I can sell it there or there’s always craigslist. I kind of need to sell this one to justify buying the new one.......you know the boss is in charge of the finances. lol

Alright cool, I just wanted to ensure it wasn't terribly difficult to remove the filter and clean it on a regular basis...

I am quite the reh-tard when it comes to DIY.

Just to confirm for you, I live in Washing state. Talk about rain!!!! We don't tan we RUST!!!!! As for your question---no problems not even in a down poor.

When you get a chance to Dyno can I ask that you do at least 1 run with the VR with a hi-volocity fan in front to simulate a driving condition. Please. It may show a real boost.

I'll ask the shops that I talk to as to what they have, but it will ultimately be what's available. Wasn't Ted's high end fans only able to simulate 60 mph? As someone who ran a supercharged car for 5 years, I don't see boost happening at 130 mph on the interstate much less on a dyno, no matter the fan setup. I could be completely wrong, but it took a pretty small pulley on my Eaton M90 to get 9 - 11 psi.

Nice thought though and if someone knows if this can happen then I'd certainly be interested to hear/see the documention.

Oh and this will be a hood down test...since most of have a hood and drive with it down.

Alright, final question...I am in the process of finalizing my decision between VR and CAI.

I noticed an alert for the purchase on many suppliers that stated the VR does not require a tune, but the Camaro comes with multiple models of air meters, and this intake only works with specific ones. Before ordering the NO Tune model you must check the factory code on the OEM air meter. However, when I go to order it there is no selection to specify what type of air meter I have? Am I good to order, because now I am lost.

Yes you should be good to order. They just want you to check the MAF to make sure it's the good one. If not then you need to get the good one. Just follow their tutorial on how to check for it, if you have the good one your all set!

there are two units; tune and no tune you may have to change the sensor if is a single character one. Look at their site on installation it's hilighted in blue I believe. When you click on it, it takes you to a page that shows you what I mean and talks about it in more detail. It takes about 1.5 minutes to check. You should also call them to feel more at ease. Great people.
