^This is exactly the point. Is Ford playing to win? If so, they should try to come up with an answer. Case closed.

As far as toyotas go, you might want to take a look at some reliability data before you scoff, and of course it says Toyota in my profile, it doesn't say ONLY Toyota:

I liked ya better when you only admitted to driving a Toyota. That Snake better stay inside I hear ZL1s are coming

Nice Cobra car cover. Doesn't mean that's a Shelby under there.

Too bad there arent any "tracks" on my way to work... I guess the ZL1 is at a disadvantage everywhere else (straight lines...).

I have to take that back. I believe there's a hint of a heat extractor hiding under there.

I had a 2010. LOL

alright the new 2013 shelby might go faster but where are you really going to do 200mph? really come on what matters is the handaling........you can make a car that goes fast but you need a good suspension to handle that kind of speed also track performance is key to you shelby ppl have you ever looked at the zl1 track vids the car takes a corner at 125 like nothing.......thats what matter not how fast or how much power but the handle of the car which i think the zl1 has it might not have the speed but it has the AWESOME handaling when shelby has magnectic ride suspension give me a call. ZL1 WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All you're trying to do is bash GM, Corvette, and more importantly CAMARO. If that's your intent, you might as well find the door.

I've had cars with SFCs, so I'd say I have an idea, considering they were both T-top cars that I played with on the track - thanks. You're trying to dismiss any achievement with safety equipment but look past other obvious factors that play into these runs. I'm done, and so are you, so please don't bother posting more off-topic comments.

When someone can point me to the time when faster times don't equal better performance and capability, then I'll conceed. I'm not sure where anything was over-hyped. We have, what, three tests so far, in the winter; at least one was on a cold day with a dusty track (it seems to me all three reviews were on the same track, but it's not clear the conditions). There are still lots of other conditions we don't have data on so declaring ZL1 over-hyped seems pretty premature, IMO.
Dude, you're way outta line on this. Grabber didn't bash Camaro or the ZR1 at all. All he was saying was that the ZR1's time was accomplished using slicks and a roll cage, which both help performance (if you aren't aware of how a roll cage helps on a racetrack you might do some research, it's not "a wash") and are not stock equipment for a 2011 ZR1. And therefore he pointed out that it's not a reasonable comparison to compare that ZR1 run with the GT-R run which was on regular street tires without a roll cage.

He's right.

Where are you going to do 183mph in a ZL1? Where are you going to take a turn at 125mph on the street? Where will you be able to exploit even 1/5th of what either of these cars can do on a public road? And Shelby does have a magnetic suspension for 2013, so PM your number

It is getting so ridiculous here.

For nearly 60k Dollars, you get a car that is not just great looking, but also nice in performing on the streets. I donīt know whatīs the point in getting 11secs for 1/4 mile but when driving home, you are loosing traction in every curve.

At least in Germany, you drive a lot of curvy roads and the Autobahn is the only "non-track place" you can really run this beast to itīs maximum. And also the Autobahn is full of curves, so I rather have an overall well-performing car than a straight-liner...

What GM did with the ZL1 is just fantastic. Please remember, this car performs better than many fantastic supercars in the world. For example faster than the SL65 AMG Black Series (Camaro ZL1 7:41.27 > Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series 7:51.00) and a lot cheaper (60000 Dollar < 320000 EURO!)

So please, if you donīt like the car then it is your opinion and that's okay. But saying it doesnīt perform well is not true.

@fbodfather

Do you know if GM plans an official EU-Version of the ZL1? Since the Camaro has been introduced some moths ago here in Germany, there is probably the chance for it?

Thanks!
Dez
