1997 GMC 3500 454 Auto 271,645 miles never had an issue either. And my Dad can beat up your Dad...Your mustang story has no relevance to the conversation at hand......Sorry Milk I could not help myself.

That's obviously bull. We all know there was no World War III. Now, if you said World War II was starting tomorrow at 10am...that'd be a different story.

Anyway, we know what we've seen in pictures, what we've been told, and what we've been told that he was told. Anything more than that is guesswork, which is what we do here.

He didn't ask for one car without problems, he asked for one model, which apparently the 05 had.

Silver Streak is talking in broader aspect.
Just because your car didn't have any issues, it doesn't mean that all the 2005 Mustangs were perfect.
1st year models always have issues, and in some cases "black sheep" (lemons).

anyone think of just filling in the back of the bumper cover with some filler for extra strength or would that not work???

your particular car didnt have troubles, but are you going to say that EVERY single 2005 mustang GT never had problems?

there are big pieces of safety foam behind the bumper cover... i do believe they should be pressed right up against it i dont think there wouild be room for any kind of filler. reinforcing the corners maybe a little thicker material would do the trick.

The 2005 Mustang has never had any recalls, so no, there weren't any serious widespread problems.

It's true that mine didn't have any problems (and it's been to two track days so far - see avatar pic). But I'll also say that I posted this to a Mustang forum thread a few months ago, and there were a lot of replies from other folks with NO issues.

My point is that consumers shouldn't fear first year models any more because quality is much better throughout the auto industry than it ever was.

This is what warranty's are for people, quit whining stuff happens to every single car. My freinds 2007 Bmw 335i fender cracked because of a a pothole and it was replaced under warranty for free.
