Just posting this from another thread here for the heck of it:
Quote:
Now I had remembered reading somewhere that they recommended sliding the rubber pad down in between the radiator and the condenser, but I don't remember the instructions mentioning anything about removing this rubber seal attached to the top front of the radiator so of course I didn't see any gap to slide it into and just layed it over the front. Long story short, I reinstalled it this way with the rubber piece removed (also shaved more plastic from the radiator brackets to give better clearance) and now it seems to sit better than before and I also have more room for the scoop to push in air. Haven't driven with the changes yet, but I can't see it being a bad thing. Now just keeping my fingers crossed that the intake stays put with these changes compared to before when it would move some. Maybe this info will help a few of you out that that may have done the same thing I did!

Sorry for my relative laziness, but I don't feel like reading through all of these pages to see if there have been dyno results, and if so, what the gains are, can someone help me out.

Personally? Top dog right now hands down is Injen. Not only does the Injen currently perform better than all the rest (VR excluded since it's too new) but it looks great. BUT, VR isn't a new company that just started last week. They have been known to put out some of the best intakes on many vehicles around for a while now. On top of all of this, their test dynos and everything tested for the v6 Camaro look above promising. Now, place fact vs. a reputable intake company who has an intake for the v6 Camaro that has not been out long enough to prove themselves other than the very impressive dynos that were shown and what do you have? That's for you to answer... There have not been enough dyno runs testing (the only one posted looks great! and extremely promising!), 1/4 miles after the fact to prove this intake any better than the Injen (or any other for that matter.) but if you read every single post on this forum from every single Vararam thread you will most likely come to the same conclusion that I and many other Vararam owners have come to... this intake simply kicks ass. On top of it performing like a champion, it does not hang low for water to come in (which is a major problem for states filled with flooding like mine (Florida)), it is a ram air intake and it sounds awesome as shit as well as provides extra horsepower. Hell, had I known it would make my car sound this good I would've paid the money for that alone! |

Just a quick update from my last post...
After doing the changes to the install of the VR last night, and doing some driving today, I'm happy with the outcome. 100 degree temps today and the car felt strong...I still maintain that it is an improvement over the AirRaid for sure. Better yet, once I got home I popped the hood and found that the intake was sitting perfectly, and I was able to fit the key fob in between the whole length of the inlet area with room to spare. Before, I would either have to force it in or it just wouldn't fit and I'd have to push the intake back down. Call me happy now! Only thing left to check now is to be sure the intake stays in place after several more drives.
