What am I doing wrong? Do I have to tighten something a little more?
I would also take a look at your brackets. Make sure they were cut low enough. Also, I have noticed on the passenger side, the intake is tight against the outer side of the bracket, if that area is too tight I could see it causing the intake to move...

If it would help I can take a picture tonight after work to show what I'm talking about...

ill take a pic and show you guys. thanks for the help
The brackets are cut beyond where VR stated. I cut them really low for more clearence.
Maybe my brackets arent too tight, or I should put back those rubber gasket thing back in the brackets so the radiator cant move soo much

I found if the rad moves back any, it will raise the intake body up a little and close the gap some. I made sure I kept the inner hard plastic grommet in so the rad is stable.

I also cut the driver side bracket down a good amount and also nipped the rubber grommet some because the intake was resting on it.

I've had no problems with movement of the intake now. Also when tightening the bracket bolt push the bracket down tight on the rad.

Yep...I believe re-doing mine more like this is what stopped movement of my intake.

I am impressed with all that I have read about this CAI. But, where is the intake pulling the cold air from? Is it from above the hot radiator from the air in front of the a/c condensor? Not knocking it as I have read everyone's praises just trying to understand how.

That is how my brackets look right there. Thanks to VR tech and telling pops how to cut them. It will not move again if u cut them exactly that way. Great intake too. I can feel the power. Can't wait until the fall time

Pulling from in front of the A/C condenser and the radiator. My coolant temp is running about 199 - 205 degrees with this intake.

Watch the video and you can see the "wing" that directs the air to the intake.

It pulls ambient air from in front of the condenser as it comes into your grill.

Thanks Goo and Shuffler, that is what I thought. I have a scan tool that should show me intake air temps so I may do a before and after to see how much cooler the intake air temps are after the Vararam. I really like the look of it better than the side box designs. I had considered sealing my stock box and building my own with K&N filter, but the Vararam looks so much better. I have to finish saving $$$'s now as I just bought the guage cluster and need to sell off some Harley and Silverado parts I still have. I hate spending new money when I have old stuff to get rid of.

I ordered a Vararam intake yesterday afternoon. (I got it at the pre-order price because it wasn't yet listed on the website for sale. =) ) It arrived this afternoon. Gotta love Vararam, UPS, and living in Texas!

Too busy today to install it... hopefully tomorrow.
