The filter in the Vararam setup should last 200,000 miles.

I noticed on my way to work yesterday that my car didn't have the get up power its suppose to have. Opened the hood and sure enough the intake had move leaving a small gap for air go get though. When I put the new shorten lower on, I knew I would have to take it back off to modify the brackets but I kept pushing it off. So this made me take them off yesterday while at work to get the modified. I work at a manufacturing plant so just got a grinder and took more off the brackets.

Now it sits nice a flush with throttle body and I was able to put it back together without taking the top of the air intake off. Now i have about .0625" clearance from the brackets to the intake. The gap for air is also a little bigger as well.

I'll check it in a few days to make sure its not moving anymore.

Good update, thanks. I will be getting the TB on Friday and will look at the intake for any warp from the clamp and make sure the clearances are nice and tight when the TB goes in.

I did my install last Friday and have over 300 miles on it... It hasn't moved. (I cut the brackets lower than directed.)

Sounds better, more pull, quicker, running cooler... as for the MPG... I'll let you know after I get done playing and get back to "normal" driving...

Overall, easy install and gets two big from me.

Green Filter recommends cleaning every 4-6k miles on the box of their cleaner kit. The filter itself should last the life of our car (limited lifetime warranty). I'll probably do it every other oil change.

just checked my intake, stupid thing moved up and closed the gap on my right side but the gap is perfect on the left side.
What am I doing wrong? Do I have to tighten something a little more?

I'm that guy that changes the oil every 3k, even though I use Mobil 1. I know people will say it's a waste of money, but it can't hurt - my car is relatively low mileage. I will have had it 2 years on 26 August and I'm at 10.3k miles. So I'll clean the Green filter every 6k miles.

Don't overtighten the clamp on the air horn! Get a turbo clamp (3.5" or 3.75") and use that instead so you don't run the risk of deforming the air horn.

Checked mine after 200 miles no movement. I'm sure I drive aggressive enough to test the movement. Maybe for fun I will take it off for the third time and check. Last check showed nothing abnormal. I will see if I have the money to purchase the turbo clamps. Then install those.
