The LS engine is way more responsive to mods than any N/A mod motor. My guess is that with it's small displacement it still will be slightly behind an SS.

412hp/3400lbs>426hp/4000lbs
412lbs/3400lbs>425hp/4100lbs

Looks like the mustang will be the next best thing to a ls3 vette power to weight ratio wise!! This is going to be good!! Ill wait and see what Dodge is going to do with the new 6.4 Hemi before I make my final decision.

Finally, some competition from the cruiserweight pony!!

Heh...I hardly consider this enough to auto-punt the Mustang to the top of the crowd, though.
All we know is the HP. Likely, other things have changed as well.........

the v6 is "under 3500" so expect the gt to be 3600-3650 is my guess.

but still

412hp/3650 > 426hp/3900

Speaking of that....I'd like to point out that in a time of high concern about fuel prices and emissions, etc: Car makers are putting out some of their most fuel-efficient vehicles ever...at the same time as the most powerful cars ever.

A little irony for the Chicken Little's of a few years ago...

Only thing is, do you think the mustang will get any where near the mpg of the camaro? I had an 05 gt and it was very bad on gas. Best was around 14mpg.

Ford strikes back

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/17/2...power-5-0l-v8/

Looks like Ford finally stopped bringing a knife to a gun fight. Wonder how it will compare to our favorite little alien robot?
